STEVE: Yeah. And the only witness we had against Wo Fat. How did he know, huh? How did he know?! How did this happen?!
DANNY: Shh, come here, come here, come on, come on, come here. Relax, c’mere. Relax, stop. Talk to me for a second, okay.
THIS SCENE. Oh, man. You guys. This might've killed my brain for awhile. Danny's little tug on Steve's shirt when he was freaking out. Danny pulls him away by the arm first and that perked me up, but, oh man, it was that little shirt tug that made my heart hurt and thump all at the same time. I don't even know. It's just so... intimate and familiar and gentle and Danny's talking in his calming voice o' rational thought that you know he uses on Grace when she has nightmares and just. yeah. Boys. ♥ (It looks like it happens so fast in the gif, but I swear time slowed down watching that in real time aldkfja.)
Add to that how after Steve's arrested, DANNY MAKING STEVE LOOK AT HIM and promising he'd fix things and just. MY HEART.
Other things I hearted:
♥ Danny/Elvis. See also: Danny/nakednesseses.
♥ O'Lough continuing to be overwhelmingly pretty in every. single. scene.
♥ The construction supply place being Steve's heaven.
♥ Danny's cooked Steve eggs. Like you do after sex. Post-sex eggs.
♥ "When do I ever knock?!" and "Why are you dressed like a ninja?!" I especially like how it seems that everything Danny says to Steve should be followed with "?!" aldkfja.
♥ All of HPD going to arrest Steve. And yet he still manages to escape. \WIN/
♥ The governor's DO NOT FUCK WITH ME face. That was all kinds of awesome. (Her dying was less so. Woe.)
♥ Chin getting his HPD job back soon as he realized Steve was gonna be arrested, thus giving the team an insider.
♥ Kono. :( That final scene between her and Steve, guh. Their matching OHFUCK/I'MSORRY faces. Ow.
♥ Danny's dedication to his family. I may not have liked how it all went down, but I do love that he's an "all in" kinda guy.
♥ Rachel not dying! Cos I pretty much thought Rachel had signed her death certificate soon as we found out that not only was she pregnant, but, hey, the big happy family is moving back to the States. No one that happy usually gets to live in shows like this and especially not in a finale. But no more car bombs went off! I'm still kinda shocked about that, actually, heh. But happeh! I ♥ Rachel. (Even when she and Danny are being STUPID SELFISH ASSHOLES.)
♥ The potential of having daddy!Danny with an infant in the next season aldkfjas. I WANT THIS SO BAD. AND FOR STEVE TO GET TO HOLD BABY!WILLIAMS. Insert ovaries.gif here, guh.
The things that made me wanna poke the writers with sharp sticks:
• The way the whole Danny/Rachel thing was played. See above: STUPID SELFISH ASSHOLES.
• Before the news about Steve's arrest, Danny essentially tossing the 5-0 team away like they meant nothing. That literally made me flinch. :(
• The really-really-really-really important witness having absolutely no protection when transferred to the station. Not like people having been getting killed or anything that day. OH WAIT.
• All of HPD going to arrest Steve the Super SEAL -- with all their sirens going. So they were prepared with lots of men and gun power, but, eh, who needs the element of surprise.
• Can't Steve just show the cops the burn marks on his neck from the taser? :|
And every other eye-rolling thing that happened.
It's gonna be a loooooong summer hiatus. :\ At least the DVD release is only a couple months away. I'M BETTING MONEY THE EXTRAS ARE EPIC.
