ETA: Turns out it was NC, not NY! I was shocked too, hee. But someone just posted "The pic was taken on June 2,2007 after the graduation ceremony for the North Carolina School of the Arts on 4th St. in Winston-Salem, N.C." and someone else posted that the restaurant is the Camel City Cafe in NC. And according to her myspace, she graduated from there in 2006. So he may have been there for someone's graduation, but it wasn't hers. ;)
ETA2: Oookay, latest news is that Gale was there for his niece's graduation. Meg, the cutey above = not his niece, but is a friend of his niece's. This all from a "family friend" posting on imdb, but I missed the original posts and they're now deleted (aargh), so take that info with a grain of salt, though it sounds pretty darned plausible to me, especially considering he has family in NC. Oh, and there are possible other fan-pictures Gale took that day. Awww, Uncle Gale! ♥♥♥
