(no subject)
So I couldn't possible update about what I have been doing, nor would you want to read it. Whoever you is. I am having a nice time, and I definately do like it here. I am making aquaintences on the way to being friends which is a bonus. My classes are fine, I just need to do the work before tomorrow...lol...I now have a clarinet teacher who is a senior in the conservatory. I had my first lesson today, and he was just trying to teach me to tongue propperly, which I don't do. I went to something that reminded me a lot of AV yesterday, just slightly more ghetto and random and no audition required. It was a good time even though there were about 3 people at the "concert." Which was probably good. I will begin tutoring math to elementary school kids twice a week for work study starting this comming week. The 12 person marching band...is...what you might expect, we do actually march drill though. Community winds music is IMPOSSIBLE!!! (which is about a million times better than sucking) It is all Alfred Reed music...b/c he was supposed to conduct our concert...but,um, he died last Sunday. Which is very sad. But his music is like...nonsensical wholtone scale runs. And the conductor likes to conduct very emotionally and VERY quickly...like sight reading a piece that is very technical and complex at tempo...approximately...150...not good...One of the pieces is called "yiddish dances" and is like klezmer transcribed for band. it is seriously the coolest thing ever, and the eb clarinet solo has all these bends that are really ammusing...though I could never play it. um...I am going to hear a piano concert very shortly, and then will have to do work till about 3 am because I haven't managed to get any done earlier in the weekend. I do get it done though...I am not being a slacker and not doing the work...ok...have nice weeks. Later.
