Writer's Block: Awesome Openers

I'll go with the opening to my favorite movie because at the time it came out it was real but you almost didn't want to believe in someone that heartless:

Opening scene (a voice over is blabbering the news and statisctics, in the background you also hear police sirens). It's the middle of the day. There is a wide shot of a bridge in New York . The camera zooms in to a guy in a suit being hung upside down over the bridge railing, by a very large man. There is a lot of yelling and screaming and a hysterical girl is running around in the background. You can see the boats in the river below. Camera moves back to a car stopping on the bridge and a polished shoe comes out, followed by a tailored suit.

NB: (to the man over the bridge) Ah Benny, you don't have my money or my product
Benny: you gotta give me another chance Nino please!!!
NB: Money talks, bullshit runs the marathon, so see ya and I wouldn't want to be ya!

Benny gets dropped off the bridge.

That's the opening scene for New Jack City (1990).

I also love the opening for Kill Bill 1 where he says...you think I'm sadistic? This is me at my most masochistic.

films, writer's block, books, opening lines
