Hugo - short stories - John Scalzi (Night Dragons)

May 29, 2012 15:16

I'm starting into my Hugo voter packet, so that I can make educated voting choices. My first attempt was something light and fluffy...

"Shadow War of the Night Dragons: Book One: The Dead City: Prologue" by John Scalzi (the hyperlink takes you to the exerpt on tor.com)

This is up for a Hugo Short Story. I can't even get through the free posted exerpt. To quote elyth35, this should be up for a Bulwer-Lytton award, not a Hugo. Though, as Jim Hines pointed out, it must feel a bit odd to Scalzi to have something that was written as an April Fool's joke be nominated in the first place.
