Oh I forgot... Lunch At Nancy's.

Aug 30, 2004 14:59

We went to Nancy's after church Sunday for lunch with a bunch of theater people...
After dinner we (Eric, Leeann, Kelsee, Mallory and I) were sitting around in the living room, the filet mignon and jello salad digesting in our satiated stomachs. I was sitting on the piano bench, with my feet on a little foot rest thingy that matches the bench and piano. And we were all tired and slap-happy, and laughing at everything. At the time we were making fun of Kelsee, who had fallen asleep.
"Oh my gosh, Kelsee's asleep!" Eric declared. And we all laughed a lot.
"Uh-oh, Mammeh Keltheh fugot ta take her pills!" said Leeann. And we all cracked up.
Then there was a silence. It was broken by Eric.
"Oh my gosh, Reed, that looks so wierd."
"What?" I asked.
"Everything's perfectly centered." He said. "Look. Your feet are in the middle of the footrest, the foot rest is in the middle of the piano bench, you are in the middle of the bench, and the bench is in the middle of the piano."
So we laughed. And then he said,
"Those books on the end of the piano just ruin everything." This was the first thing to be said that we didn't find funny for a long time.
So, thinking quickly I grab the two books, the bottom one being a novel entitled "The Sacrifice", and the top one was a children's picture book called "Animal baby". So I centered the one top one on the bottom and placed them on my knees, just so everything would be perfect.
"Hey look, Eric", I said. "the Animal Baby is in the middle of The Sacrifice!".
*Silent Pause*
"HA-HAHAHA HA!" Leeann burst with laughter. Then we all got it, and were laughing for about half an hour. Leeann seems to always be the one who notices the things we think nobody saw/heard, and makes sure everyone gets it. Haha. Strangely though, she wasn't looking when we were leaving the Art center at Wabash, and I was waving goodbye through the window, not looking where I was going, ran straight into a huge pillar. I almost fell over. Then I almost fell over just from laughing at myself. Funny, funny me.
