springy ding ding

Yay. Everything is so green! Driving (well, riding anyway) down the country roads in the car makes me happy... the lush, vivid chartreuse with a smattering of magenta dogwoods... foiled against the grey tree trunks... yes. Quite pleasing to the eye.
...Last week/end was spent in Chicago whilst Mallory visited Wheaton college. Wheaton looks awesome. They even have a J.R.R. Tolkien/C.S. Lewis/something Barfield/George MacDonald museum, and it has the actual desk on which Tolkien typed most of the trilogy, and (angelic chorus) THE WARDROBE. Unfortunately it was closed by the time I got there so I didn't get to see it. But I must. I shall, eventually.
At the hotel at which we stayed there was a pool. One day I stood there and read all of the posted pool rules. One of them stated, "Access to the pool shall be denied to any persons showing symptoms of any of the following: Boils, Carbuncles, Measles, Flu..." bla bla bla, "...Diarreah..."
Haha. I wonder what kind of symptoms they look for on that one...
Saturday I reffed a few soccer games and got $15. I plan to buy a wonderful shirt from cottonfactory.com.  I also got terribly sunburnt on the back of my shins. Burnt veal. (See if you can spot the pun!)
Sunday... um never mind nothing happened on Sunday. Nor monday, nor Tuesday, except that I got an 88% on a dreaded biology test. What a pleasant surprise.
Wednesday was Hobbit rehearsals. Blocking of my only scene... I was reminded how annoying mobs of small children were. Good thing Morgan (assume McIntyre unless otherwise stated) was there or else it would have been quite boring. During breaks I tried to read Charles Dickens' Hard Times, since I really mustn't get any further behind in school, but of course, to no avail. The plotless book is hard enough to pay attention to when completely alone and secluded in my room, but with a bunch of crazy kids running around screaming and occasionally trying to talk to me, it's impossible. I briefly considered going into the bathroom, locking myself in a stall and making grunting noises, but I had no small, despensible items to drop into the toilet to make plopping noises. That, and the breaks weren't really that long.  It rained Wednesday night... pleasantly so. I wanted dearly to go outside and run around screaming.
