Honestly, I feel like the AU is some of DC’s best stuff. JL&JLU is definitely dated now, but it’s still really good. That’s mainly the canon I was thinking for these ships, but I’m also familiar with most of the other animated DC properties, so go for whatever characterizations/dynamics/backstories you like best.

Brainiac/Lex Luthor
I really feel like this ship is practically canon at the end of JLU. Lex is so obsessed with Brainiac and he’s devoted everything he has left to bringing him back. I’d love to see something where Brainiac uses those feelings against him, whether it’s while they’re still sharing a body or after Lex gets him a new one. This could also be a really fun way to play with non-human genitalia, like Lex building him a body with some fun new features.

I really loved that episode of JLU where Vandal and Clark were the only ones left on the planet. I'm just so fascinated by the antagonism, especially with how it works out with them being forced to work with each other and having no one to rely on but each other. I’d love to see something set there or after, especially with Clark trying to figure out how to deal. Also just anything where Vandal gleefully fucks Clark up would be awesome.

Roderick Nelson
Roderick was great and I wish there had been more of him. I'm really interested in seeing something about how he entered the cult and got to second-in-command. Also fic where he isn't actually killed would be great.

Joe's cult is fascinating and I'd love to see more of him gathering his flock and interacting with them, especially Emma, Mandy, and Roderick. His obsession with Ryan is even more fascinating, especially in the last season when his only desire seems to be to see Ryan one last time before he dies. I’d love to see something more introspective for him, whether it’s about when he started killing or when he was gathering his cult or when Ryan became his main obsession.

I’m really intrigued by the idea of a relationship between these two. It would probably be spectacularly awful, but I’d so like to see what it could be before it implodes. I imagine there would be a lot of push and pull between them, maybe grudging attraction that one or both of them would rather forget about but can’t. I really like the idea of that scene where Roderick had Charlie beat Mike up as a sort of violent foreplay for them. I would absolutely love something set immediately after, where Ryan didn’t burst in, with Roderick kissing the blood off of Mike’s face.

They were so cute?? I honestly just fell in love with these two on my last rewatch and I want so much more of them. I love that the two of them bonded so quickly and that Lucas was so protective of Tilda. Honestly that scene where Tilda was getting insulted and Lucas was like, “You know what, fuck it, let’s kill them,” was so great. More of that! Or just more of them in general, especially them surviving or going on a murder spree together. Basically, for these two, I’m more interested in them being dark together than their relationship being dark.

I love Joe’s obsession with Ryan, especially in the last season when his only desire seems to be to see Ryan one last time before he dies. Theirs, to me, is a really tragic relationship and I’d love to see that explored more. Mutual pining and guilt over feelings ahoy! Canon Joe death is fine (but so is fix it... maybe the executioner was in on it and Joe pops up in Ryan's life again?), and I'd be ok with either of them dying as long as it's one of them killing the other.

Emma was my favorite character on the show and I was so devastated when she was killed off. I love how charismatic and confident she is. Her relationship with Jacob and Paul is really interesting, especially when it comes down to how she really feels about either of them. Sometimes it seems like she’s just with them because Joe said she’d do well with Jacob, and sometimes it it seems like she has real but complicated feelings about the relationship. Still, I loved that even for a little bit we had a canon threesome, so it'd be great to see more of that relationship, especially dealing with Emma’s jealousy of Paul. Jacob and Paul were also fantastic together and I really wanted to see them get more time to work out what was going on between them. I’d especially like something about Paul helping Jacob find his inner killer.

He might even be seen as a traitor for failing to kill Dumbledore as ordered, which is something I’d love to see explored. I’d prefer if there’s shippiness, that not be the dark part.

My favorite character! I love Voldemort in every iteration and I would be delighted to see absolutely anything about him. What was Tom really like at the orphanage before Dumbledore showed up? What did he do after he was rejected from the DADA teaching position? How does he train his followers? What kind of Dark magic does he know? Really just… anything.

I really love Pansy and I wish we’d gotten to see more of her in canon. I feel like there’s a lot of opportunity for her as a Slytherin and likely a child of Death Eaters. I would love to see something about her learning the Dark Arts or being trained to one day become a Death Eater. I’d prefer if there’s shippiness, the dark part be an outside force or them being dark together.

I think Lavender is a really interesting character that gets a bad rap in both canon and fandom. I wish we could have seen more of her and more of her being a dynamic character. I’d love to see something about what she’s thinking and feeling while everything happens in the wizarding world, especially during seventh year. I really like the idea of her going dark as well, whether it’s because of the way everyone else treats her or because she’s following someone else or because she feels like she has no other choice. I’d prefer if there’s shippiness, the dark part be an outside force or them being dark together.

I’d love to see something where Voldemort uses Fenrir to threaten or punish Draco (and of course by extension Lucius). Maybe Fenrir goes along with that, or maybe he takes things into his own hands when he decides he really would like a taste of Draco. I mean, Draco is pretty much just his type!

This movie has been one of my favorites since the first time I saw it as a teenager. I love the glitter and the glamour and the weirdness and the magic and the manipulation. Jareth is really interesting to me, especially his motives and his desires because they all seem so twisted up in the movie that it’s hard to see what’s what. I’d especially like to see something set after the movie, with Sarah or Toby going to Jareth or him coming to them. I’m also familiar with the manga/graphic novel adaption if you want to bring in any of that.

Jareth (Labyrinth) & Sarah Williams (Labyrinth) & Toby Williams
We don’t get to see a whole lot of the three of them interacting in the movie, so I’d love to see some of that! Something where Toby’s old enough to actually participate would be awesome, though the push and pull between Jareth and Sarah over baby Toby is great too. I’d love to see the goblins and other characters getting in on it too. Maybe a literal Jareth vs. Sarah with all the labyrinth inhabitants picking sides?

I’d really like to see more about these two as Toby gets older. Do they grow close? Is Sarah protective of Toby after everything that happened? Or do the family issues keep them apart? I’d especially like to see the former, though I’m really down for anything. I can see Sarah telling Toby stories about the labyrinth and the fae, which could be really interesting if they end up going back or something comes to them.

Jareth is such a delightful and complicated character. I don’t know how canon it is exactly, but I definitely see him more as a fae. I like that play of him not having the same rules as humans. I’d love see more of him as the Goblin King, what he does when not creeping on Sarah, what he wants, how he runs the Labyrinth.

Oh Sarah. She was wonderful and I loved seeing her really come into her own through the movie. I’d love to see what she does afterward, if she’s traumatized by what happened to her or if she becomes even stronger and more sure of herself. It would be really interesting to see how she’s changed, especially if it made her into someone who’s smarter and more clever and more dangerous.

I really like this show and the characters! I find the magic in it really fascinating, especially with Fillory. I’d love to see more of that and more of Brakebills, particularly expanding on the more negative aspects of magic. I’ve not yet watched s3, but I will try to get through it by reveals.

I shipped this from the very beginning of the show. I really see Eliot as having been attracted to Quentin from the first time he saw him, but Quentin being totally oblivious. I’d love to see something about Eliot pining or about how he finally tells Quentin about his feelings. Is it before that time they had sex or is it after? It would also be really fun to see something about Quentin being jealous of Eliot’s boyfriends (or spouses in Fillory) and not really knowing why. Maybe Margo has to step in and make the dumb boys talk out their feelings? For a darker take, I’d like the darkness to come from an outside source or their own magic, rather than their relationship.

I’m really fascinated by Jane. I wish we’d gotten more than bits and pieces of her when she was a child and then when she’s much older. I want to know what went on between! Did anyone except the Dean know who she was? What was her life like outside of trying to save magic and defeat her brother? I’m cool with adding in any relationship for her, bc she really does deserve some love. Though I have a feeling she might have gotten into some bad spots with that too...

I love Margo so much! She’s so smart and vicious and beautiful… basically exactly who I would want to be lol She’s also one of the ones I see as having the most potential for personal darkness. She is an ends justifies the means type person, and she is willing to do whatever necessary to get what she wants or thinks is right. I’d love to see more of that, especially with things starting to go wrong in Fillory.

I wanna be Olivia, seriously. She’s so great, strong and determined and confident in who she is and what she wants. I’d love to see how she got there from the little girl whose stepmother pimped her out for drugs. Was there someone who helped her? How did she get to Midnight? It had to have been a hard road, and her current profession probably isn’t a whole lot better.

I really love everything about their relationship in the show, how trusting and chill they are with each other, how well they work together to kick ass, how protective they are of each other. I’d prefer their relationship not be the source of darkness, rather an outside source or one of their pasts coming back to haunt them.

One of my favorite parts of this show is the found family aspect. I love how all of these different people, human and non-human, came together and love each other and help each other and protect their town. I’d love to see more of them having to work together against some evil force, whether it’s supernatural or not. I really liked the haunted/demon possessed house, so it would be great to see something like that, maybe on an even bigger, more gothic scale.

I am really into these two for some reason, even though I’m pretty sure I’m the only one lol I just think they have a lot of potential, especially for something angsty and violent. Torture porn on Nero’s ship would be especially fantastic.

I would really just love to see all the Jim whump! I’d love to see any kind of aliens, but especially ones we don’t see much in any of the shows or movies. I love Kirk/Spock as happy and meant to be relationshp, but I’d also really like to see Spock fucking Kirk up, whether of his own volition or not. We got to see some of Spock’s more dangerous and feral qualities in the first movie when he attacked Jim, and it would be fantastic to expand on that. Maybe with Spock not being able to control himself, maybe with something/someone else causing him to lose control. Something set at Starfleet Academy would be fantastic, as would something where they’re out in the depths of space with no backup from Starfleet. I’d especially like something dealing with the aftermath, like them stuck on the ship together and having to work together with one or both of them fucked up and confused about what happened. I’d rather not have Nyota demonized, so please either ignore their relationship or make her and Spock’s breakup mutual or at least not terrible. I’m also a big fan of weird Vulcan dick, so go crazy!

Most of my interest in Star Wars is in the First Order tbh. I really enjoy exploring the dynamics of the First Order and seeing all the different places in the galaxy. I’d love to see something that goes a lot further than the movie, in terms of worldbuilding and character. I really enjoyed TFA, but I hated TLJ, so feel free to ignore anything and everything from there.

Armitage Hux
I love Hux so much, you guys. He’s so vicious and snarky and brilliant, with a wonderfully angsty backstory. I’d love to see something of him at the Academy or even before. I know bits of canon from the books, but I want more! I can see the Academy being physically and mentally very difficult for him, and maybe him even having to get revenge on some of the other students afterward for how they treated him. Tell me all about why he worked so hard to get up the ranks of the First Order and what his own personal goals are for it. How does he feel about Snoke? What is his endgame? I’d also love to see something with him becoming emperor, since that’s always a fun AU.

I love how conflicted Kylo is as a character and it would be great to explore that, especially about his family and how he came to the Dark Side in the first place. I feel like he was one of the kids who, on the surface, had a really wonderful family that ended up fucking him up big time. I’d really love something about that, about him becoming disillusioned with the senate and the rebels, about not fitting in with Luke’s jedi teaching. I see him as someone who tries so hard to get attention and affection, and he just never got it in the way he needed it and so he lashed out. That could certainly lead him to some very dark corners!

Were they immediately at each other’s throats or did that come later? I also really like Hux being the more controlling, dominant one in their relationship, though a more equal relationship is also perfectly fine. I really feel like this ship is practically canon at the end of JLU. Lex is so obsessed with Brainiac and he’s devoted everything he has left to bringing him back. Emma was my favorite character on the show and I was so devastated when she was killed off. I love how charismatic and confident she is. Sometimes it seems like she’s just with them because Joe said she’d do well with Jacob, and sometimes it it seems like she has real but complicated feelings about the relationship. Still, I loved that even for a little bit we had a canon threesome, so it'd be great to see more of that relationship, especially dealing with Emma’s jealousy of Paul. Jacob and Paul were also fantastic together and I really wanted to see them get more time to work out what was going on between them. I’d especially like something about Paul helping Jacob find his inner killer.

I hadn’t really thought much about this ship until recently, but it really has some great potential for darkness. I’d love to see something where Voldemort uses Fenrir to threaten or punish Draco (and of course by extension Lucius). Maybe Fenrir goes along with that, or maybe he takes things into his own hands when he decides he really would like a taste of Draco. I mean, Draco is pretty much just his type!

This movie has been one of my favorites since the first time I saw it as a teenager. I love the glitter and the glamour and the weirdness and the magic and the manipulation. Jareth is really interesting to me, especially his motives and his desires because they all seem so twisted up in the movie that it’s hard to see what’s what. I’d especially like to see something set after the movie, with Sarah or Toby going to Jareth or him coming to them. I’m also familiar with the manga/graphic novel adaption if you want to bring in any of that.

We don’t get to see a whole lot of the three of them interacting in the movie, so I’d love to see some of that! Something where Toby’s old enough to actually participate would be awesome, though the push and pull between Jareth and Sarah over baby Toby is great too. I’d love to see the goblins and other characters getting in on it too. Maybe a literal Jareth vs. Sarah with all the labyrinth inhabitants picking sides?

I can see Sarah telling Toby stories about the labyrinth and the fae, which could be really interesting if they end up going back or something comes to them.

Jareth is such a delightful and complicated character. I don’t know how canon it is exactly, but I definitely see him more as a fae. I like that play of him not having the same rules as humans. I’d love see more of him as the Goblin King, what he does when not creeping on Sarah, what he wants, how he runs the Labyrinth.

Oh Sarah. She was wonderful and I loved seeing her really come into her own through the movie. It would be really interesting to see how she’s changed, especially if it made her into someone who’s smarter and more clever and more dangerous.

I shipped this from the very beginning of the show. I really see Eliot as having been attracted to Quentin from the first time he saw him, but Quentin being totally oblivious. I’d love to see something about Eliot pining or about how he finally tells Quentin about his feelings. Is it before that time they had sex or is it after? It would also be really fun to see something about Quentin being jealous of Eliot’s boyfriends (or spouses in Fillory) and not really knowing why. Maybe Margo has to step in and make the dumb boys talk out their feelings? For a darker take, I’d like the darkness to come from an outside source or their own magic, rather than their relationship.

I wanna be Olivia, seriously. She’s so great, strong and determined and confident in who she is and what she wants. One of my favorite parts of this show is the found family aspect. I love how all of these different people, human and non-human, came together and love each other and help each other and protect their town. I’d love to see more of them having to work together against some evil force, whether it’s supernatural or not. I really liked the haunted/demon possessed house, so it would be great to see something like that, maybe on an even bigger, more gothic scale.

I love Kirk/Spock as happy and meant to be relationshp, but I’d also really like to see Spock fucking Kirk up, whether of his own volition or not. We got to see some of Spock’s more dangerous and feral qualities in the first movie when he attacked Jim, and it would be fantastic to expand on that. Maybe with Spock not being able to control himself, maybe with something/someone else causing him to lose control. Something set at Starfleet Academy would be fantastic, as would something where they’re out in the depths of space with no backup from Starfleet. I’d especially like something dealing with the aftermath, like them stuck on the ship together and having to work together with one or both of them fucked up and confused about what happened. I’d rather not have Nyota demonized, so please either ignore their relationship or make her and Spock’s breakup mutual or at least not terrible. I’m also a big fan of weird Vulcan dick, so go crazy!

I love Hux so much, you guys. He’s so vicious and snarky and brilliant, with a wonderfully angsty backstory. I’d love to see something of him at the Academy or even before. I know bits of canon from the books, but I want more! I can see the Academy being physically and mentally very difficult for him, and maybe him even having to get revenge on some of the other students afterward for how they treated him. Tell me all about why he worked so hard to get up the ranks of the First Order and what his own personal goals are for it. How does he feel about Snoke? What is his endgame? I’d also love to see something with him becoming emperor, since that’s always a fun AU.

I love how conflicted Kylo is as a character and it would be great to explore that, especially about his family and how he came to the Dark Side in the first place. I feel like he was one of the kids who, on the surface, had a really wonderful family that ended up fucking him up big time. I’d really love something about that, about him becoming disillusioned with the senate and the rebels, about not fitting in with Luke’s jedi teaching. I see him as someone who tries so hard to get attention and affection, and he just never got it in the way he needed it and so he lashed out. That could certainly lead him to some very dark corners!

Hux and Kylo are my favorite kind of antagonistic and I really enjoy the way they play off of each other. I would love to see how they met. Were they immediately at each other’s throats or did that come later? I’m always up for them meeting outside the First Order too, like hooking up at a bar or both being at some political event or whatever. I also really like Hux being the more controlling, dominant one in their relationship, though a more equal relationship is also perfectly fine. I don’t tend to mention top/bottom preferences as it doesn’t usually matter a whole lot to me, but if you do smut, please have Kylo bottoming.
