La Grande Adventure: Days 23 thru 25
ADVISORY: THIS POST CONTAINS MUCH JEALOUSY INDUCING INFORMATION. BEWARE.
day 23: just a regular tuesday morning, you know. i woke up, took a shower, got dressed. then i discovered that caitin (joshes gf) was still there. we cleaned up the kitchen and i made matzoh-brei for us. then i checked all of my luggage, gathered my belongings and left for the south station t station to meet miriam. this was about 2:15. we then took the silver line (bus rapid transit, brt - thank you miss has a masters in transportaion planning) to the airport. we ended up waiting in line for about an hour for our tickets and finally got to our gate which began boarding about 10 mins later. we then assummed our seats in the very back row of a huge luftanza airplane and departed for munich.
day 24: we landed in munich about 5:30am local time, but that is 11:30pm boston time, so that was annoying. we had tried to sleep on the plane, but to little effect. in munich we caught another plane to dresden, and there stuffed our faces with german pastries. we then took a train to the train station, where we got more train tickets, then went to hang out at a park for an hour or so while we waited. there was a very cool tilted merry-go-round thing there that would never be legal in the us. then we got back on the train, and arrived two hours later at or final destination, PRAGUE!!!!!!!!!!!

(just to make sure you got it.) we walked from the train station to our appartment (!!!) where we showered, changed, etc. then we left at about prolly 6pm and walked around the city until 10. we passed thru the old town square, which was and still is having an easter festival, and we heard some really cool music. then we walked by the river and eventually found traditional czech food for dinner (pork, cabbage and potato dumplings). but when we got back we didn't even have energy for a previously purchased dessert, and crashed immediately.
day 25: now this was thursday morning. we woke up around 8am because miriams lebanese friend, ramzi, arrived. (v cool guy, who she met in belfast) we all slept a bit longer then we went out into the city. we walked thru the old town square again (because it is close to us) and then over the bridge to the west side of the vltava river. and up the hill to the prague castle, where we got two day passes incase we missed anything. we saw a huge and gorgeously ornate basillica, and a big room for balls and things and a toy museum which unfortunately was closed. then back to the apt for a nap, then to the ots for kilbasa dinner from a stand. it was kinda icky because there were huge pieces of gristle and fat, which i left for the rats. then we walked to the vinohrady area to go to a gay bar (valentino club). miriam and ramzi had two different kinds of beer. i had a coke and an ice tea (not the interesting kind). then we went to the club down stairs and danced until 2am, in the process meeting 4 guys, all gay of course, from the us, one of whom was the world champion irish step dancer two years running. then we walked back to our apaprtment, and got lost. i loved it, being able to walk around the city at night, though the others were less than amused. and when we got back i could nbot sleep for all the stinky ciggarette smoke in my hair. eeeeewwwww!!!
