Whelp, It's been over a week since I graduated, and I've begun to settle into life up in Arcata. This past quarter was the hardest one I've been through, but for some reason I got my best marks ever in college (3.6), which brings my overall GPA above the 3.0 mark, which is kinda my benchmark for allowing myself to be a drunken moron and still feel successful. ;)
Oh, and I've got a new e-mail address, thanks to Hukka: red@qpine.net
My post graduation celebration didn't go quite as planned, but it was nice nonetheless. Two Thursdays ago, I literally finished my last final and packed into Mike's car to head up to the bay. We spent a wonderful night at Chez Jimmy/Croc (not to forget Rolo n Malin), being smitten by blue foxes and puppies and such. As luck would have it, Jimmy headed down to LA the next day, so Mike and I got up at the ungodly hour of 11am and headed over to Hukka's for the day. We spent Friday and Saturday at Hukka's, preparing for the party Saturday night. I was kinda stupid that night (more than usual), going on a post graduation bender of booze and weed, which was cool, but I was somewhat anti-social, which blew. T'was good to see Diz n Tora n Brigus there representing from the North bay too, since I get to see those jokers far too infrequently :)
Another high point for me that night was having a friend of mine from the house come up to the party. He came out of the closet the same night I did, but still mired in the drunken jockocracy of the frat, so I thought it'd be a treat for him to come and hang out with some fags for a change ;) I was a little worried that the furry thing might weird him out, but he took it in stride. (Hell, he was my roommate when I was building Nozzle, so at least he was used to it) ;) I passed out way too early after ODing on K, but my friend stayed up and had himself a grand ol time. To sum it up, the next morning he confessed to me: "Grant, I want a boyfriend who has a velour suit." Hee hee hee! *one of us...one of us...*
The next day we roused at the crack of noon and headed over to San Leandro for Dizzy & Tora's birthday shindig. Two more of my friends from down south showed up, so I dragged them along with me to the BBQ. Needless to say, the food was awesome - I destroyed the frosted cookies and SuperJayhawk's meat, and I at least got to chat quickly with a bunch of people I hadn't seen in a while. Unfortunately, I was kinda caught babysitting for my friends, who although were pretty impressed with their first furry encounter, were also being kinda fussy, so we left early. (Thanks again to all those who put on the BBQ though! I know getting furs together is like herding cats, so that was deifnitely a welcomed gathering) :)
On Monday afternoon we all headed up to Arcata, whereby my friends hung out for a day and headed back down to LA for (ha ha ha!) school. Since then I've been settling up here with Mike, getting my business in order. Currently, I'm getting done a bunch of stuff before actually looking for a job, repairing fursuits, designing a new fursuit, and just dorking around. I figure I'll start the job search at the end of the week, but otherwise, I'm enjoying my new found unemployment...paying no rent and eating frosted mini wheats for a week straight. Ain't life grand? ;)
