So, I know I haven't been posting much, but there is good reason. I'm working on three different posts, bigger ones. One's about OK Go!'s album Oh No, and another is on SquareEnix's Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions. The third, and by far most significant at this point, is a link-heavy finger-breaker on the proposed Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA), which is eating fourteen tabs worth of my time (and wading through the discussion paper on Wikileaks). However, in the meantime, here's some links for those of you watching:
Do we have the Tech to build a bionic human? - New Scientist has always had a sympathetic ear for SF, and this piece is no different. Short and sweet, it's all real-world tech.
No skimpy outfits on bar staff - Kudos to China for passing anti-exploitation legislation! But, does leaving the enforcement until after the Olympics smell of convenient timing to anyone else?
Home penis enlargement ends in painful death - Courtesy of my good friend Karr Chaos, this little article features the unforgettable "hair tonic remedy...failed to have the same effect when injected into his penis".
Hall of Fame Outtakes - If you ran a website dedicated to consumer reviews of restaurants, wouldn't you want a collection of all-time best one-liners? Personal favorite: "Suffers from delusions of adequacy." Classic.
Laser Tattoo - Any how-to that begins with a quote about the
gom jabbar and goes on to explain how to circumvent the safeties on a
laser cutter for the purpose of body modification is worth a read.
