i've said this before, and i'll say it again. the cullom-davis library at bradley university is what andy butler would describe as "bulljunk". i haven't been sleeping very well lately, or very much, at least. for the past two weeks i've been averaging four or so hours a night. clearly, my state of mind is murky at best. thanks to that, i've developed a severe case of poetic impotence. i tried writing here last week, but the heat and the smell conspired to prevent anything, you know, good. the lone bright spot of the past two weeks has been the decemberists concert, which i'll cover in more detail later, no fooling, cross my heart, and all that. now, i get to discuss the role that 18-century american gothic themes play in charles brockden brown's "edgar huntly".
