I have a perfect 3 week vacation from agility, think she'll come in soon enough that I can get her bred in Canada, and get back in time to show Beam at Albany? I hope so!
Honestly I haven't decided. Every reason for and against is a solid reason for me, and the only reason I'd leave them on is if I thought there was a possibility I could get an aussie to qualify for WT. So .. yeah, not sure :)
That would be a hard decision. There is such a difference in what working and performance people want in terms of docked/tailed. Maybe there will be some natural bobs! :-)
And honestly, I don't really care what everyone else wants. My current potential puppy buyers except for 2 will take either (ironically the 2 are one for and one against, ha). Bah, very hard. Natural bobs I will dock - I can't stand the 6" goofy tails ;)
Add on the extra hair hanging from a half-tail - I'd spend the dog's entire life trimming it! Oh and then you get the kinked tails? Yeah, those would be docked too.
I vote for tails too. But I can definitely understand where you are coming from. It's your decision.
Jeb has a goofy long dock (not natural bob). His tail is about 5 inches long. I admit I don't generally like the looks of these tails, either. However, becuz he is my dog, it's really grown on me! I don't think the breeder expected the tails to come out like that (different person did the docking). I do trim the hair - can't stand long hair on it!

However, I'm with you. Those 6-8 inch semi-tails are just weird looking. Almost like it was a injury!
