Getting married .. best thing I've ever done.

Sep 17, 2014 09:35

Of the things in my life - buying 2 1/2 houses, moving to Colorado, buying horses, selling horses, buying dogs, training dogs, leaving my job and starting a business, rebuilding a house - getting married tops it all. I'm not super into the "I married my best friend" phrase, but honestly, I don't know how to describe it any differently. I married someone who I always want to be around, the person I want to who I want around to torture with my crankiness, the person I find comfort in, the person who I want to help me solve all of the injustices in my world, the person I want to share in all adventures with. Well, except agility. He hates watching agility ;)

The day could not have been better. The weather turned it down a notch to 85 degrees, the vendors were all spectacular, and everything just went so smoothly. The gift all of our friends and family gave us allowing Travis and I to just soak in the day and soak in getting married was truly priceless.

Here's a little snapshot into our day.

My amazing cousin painted these signs.

Food, lots of food. Wine and cupcakes and kegs of *good* beer and most importantly, PIE! Yum.

My 2 bridesmaids and 2 flower girl dresses with mine. For not choosing any colors, this sure worked out.

I so loved my hair, and only really get to see it in the photos :)

Mr. Handsome himself.

The ceremony site.

The reception

All of our guests. Wow, I feel the love!

What a beautiful day to take photos!

Tina painted us this sign "Sealed with a kiss" that now resides over our front door.

Isn't this 1960 Chevy the best?

My amazing bridesmaids, who I could not have survived without them!!

Having really young flower girls made photos a bit difficult, but the cuteness factor was unreal. This is my nephew, niece, and my best friend's daughter on the end. The two little girls could've been sisters!

Both of our remaining grandparents made it, my dad's mom and his mom's father. We were so excited they made it (from Montana and Louisiana no less!)

We're hitched!!!

The farthest traveler Yang Sen from Malaysia, and Travis' coworker photo bombing :)

Friendships last a long time .. going on 20 years with this group.

At this point I still wasn't sure he would not smash the cake in my face.

He didn't. :)

Love these champagne glasses his mom gave us!

First dance. A few tears were shed. We danced to "Marry Me" by Train. It's sweet and romantic and just fits us.

My heart that is left in Colorado is with this family.

Helping me down from the scissor lift we rented for the photographer :)

A few sunset photos. The hay fields were very romantic in the background.

The look of genuine happiness.

Getting in some horse shoes at the after party :)
