Well, I'm always saying things are going to get worse, and I'm always delighted to be proved right. Of course, one hardly has to be Nostradamus to see the shit slide we're rapidly moving along, but that won't prevent me from gloating, "I told you so!" to my fellow detainees as we're rounded up into camps.
I know, I'm an alarmist. We would never do that in America. Other than that we have in the past I mean. Just like if you asked someone ten years ago they would have said, we would never torture people in America! We would never secretly detain people in America! We would never wiretap everyone's phone's in America! And so on.
What's that you say? Things have changed since 9/11? You're right, Americans got even fucking dumber.
Among the other things we would never do in America is arrest someone because we thought they might commit a crime in the future. But despite this, it's been good times at the Republican convention, where the cops have apparently decided to take their marching orders from the movie Minority Report. Except instead of a psychic telling them who's going to commit a crime in the future, they've decided that's better left in the jurisdiction of their own best guesses.
You heard me right, it's called Pre emptive detention, and among the targets shockingly was the I-Witness video, who recently caught a cop on tape body checking a biker for no reason at a critical mass rally. So they and a number of other houses were raided BEFORE the convention, because apparently now you're not only allowed to protest, you're not allowed to potentially protest.
The group members were arrested for their radical terrorist views of thinking we should be allowed to film public events, along with the reporters of Democracy Now, including Amy Goodman, despite the fact that they clearly repeatedly announced they were press, and had video equipment and press credentials.
I'm sure it doesn't seem like a big deal to most of you mongoloids that we're preemptively arresting people, or the cops are bloodying up reporters for doing their job, or even that this all seems to be so no one can film the other horrible shit the cops are doing, or that the cops apparently no longer have to even reveal who they are.
But I would point out, that one of the ten steps to creating a closed society, the same ten steps that Hitler and Stalin both used and which you can find out about yourself by looking up Naomi Wolf, is arbitrary detention and release. The reason being that you make people accustomed to the idea of people being arrested for no reason, and accustomed to the expectation of their release soon after, so that when you stop releasing them after, the outcry is greatly diminished.
It's all about closing our society by incremental degrees so you don't notice until it's too late. Which at the rate things are going probably won't be long now.
