The good times are killing me

I've come to the conclusion that I have just been going at this whole war the wrong way. Really, who cares if we blow the legs off a million Iraqi children, especially when they'll probably just grow up to hate our freedom anyway. They're not even people. They're not people in our movies, in our discourse, or even in our minds. Their lives aren't worth counting, their words aren't worth hearing, and their hopes and dreams are nothing more than two dimensional caricatures. They don't have feelings, they don't think like we do, they exist as nothing more than animals, animals who are so inconsiderate as to try living on what are clearly our natural resources. Don't they know from history that all we ask as Americans is for people not to found civilizations in geographic areas which might contain something we covet? Serves them right for not thinking ahead.

Why kill them there so they don't come here? Why not have them come here. We can put them in dunking booths. Except there'll be no water, we'll use jagged rocks instead of baseballs, and the targets will be on their faces. Hell, why not rape booths as well. Throw a thirteen year old Iraqi girl in there and we can just form a line and charge 2 bucks a pop. No hitting of course, if you want to beat them too you have to pay extra.

We can call it the inhumanity fair. It will travel throughout the country, opening the apathetic hearts of the people to the only emotions they really understand, hate and fear. At least they won't be apathetic anymore. I assume also that since no one seems to have a problem with rape or murder, they must at least be interested in what it's like. This way we can all have a taste of something only our soldiers and mercenaries get to enjoy. It will bring us together as a country, the shared experience will bond us with one another. You're not really friends with someone until you've taken turns raping a child before bashing her face in. Just imagine how great it would be to scrape the flesh of the girl you just violated off the butt of your gun. It makes me tingle just imagining it.

Let's at least embrace the hate, let's not pretend we're on the fence. Obviously if people cared about such atrocities they would at least say something. But they don't, and their silence speaks volumes. Since we can't get behind ideas like empathy, peace, knowledge, science, understanding, diplomacy, and human rights, let's embrace those ideas we can get behind. Ideas we already support like torture, murder, invasion, theft of civil liberties and ignorance.

Let's not bother trying to pretend we want to end this war. If we did, people would stop shopping and pretending to be wizards online or looking up naked pictures of Disney teenagers to say something. If we stop that nonsense and embrace the war instead, embrace the hate and darker nature which is so much easier to bring out in others and in ourselves, we could have so much more fun. Why are we wasting good murder just shooting people or torturing them to death in cells when we can slowly lower them feet first into vats of sulfuric acid on national television? Or how about going back to the good old drawing and quartering, I've never had the satisfaction of seeing a housewife ripped apart by pickups, and I don't know that I want to die without someday witnessing such a thing. If we're going to be killing people everyday can't we at least use it to alleviate a little boredom?

So many lives are being wasted everyday. Lives which could be used to entertain me. Can any of us really live with that kind of waste?

torture, rape, apathy, iraq, good times, hate, murder, war, dehumanization
