Mid-way through 2nd afternoon -
* The drywall is up. It's a pretty blue-ish green that actually matches the accent color in the floor and goes fairly well with the enamel of the tub/toilet/sink. Hmmm...ideas for painting...
* The shower surround will be up before the handyman leaves tonight. It will need to dry before he can caulk it. He'll come back on an evening after work to get that step done. I'm not the least bit surprised that I can't use the shower right away - I've been adicted to home improvement shows on PBS for too long!
* When he comes back to caulk the surround, he'll bring the snake and Hair Away stuff to tackle the drain problem. Pray hard that this will take care of the draining issues!
* We haven't talked about it yet, but I realized this afternoon that there will probably be some areas that are newly covered with drywall but won't be covered by the shower surround. Since I didn't spend a bunch extra to move the door to the storage space, I'm considering hiring this crew to strip the God-awful ugly wallpapers (only 3 kinds left on the walls, out of an original 5 - and NONE match!) and paint the entire room. I'm thinking green-blue below the trim railing, sandy beige above, with white trim and ceiling. Then, depending on the curtain & other accessories, it could be either a coastal feel or desert.
* EEE!!! The surround is starting to go up!
* The time needed for the surround to dry will give me time to purchase a shower curtain and other necessary bath/shower stuff (LUSH!!!).
