TM 187: Relief, Vindication, Revenge
At this point? I take what I can get.

Hearing from Steve was a relief, even with everything. Life is better, knowing he's alive, even in hiding. Even if he might be in love with Tony Stark.

And talking to him was wonderful.

The Supreme Court ruling was a small amount of vindication. It doesn't relieve my personal situation at all--I'm not a mutant, the wings come from the Black Panther, and my ability to talk to birds was an (unwilling, and unknowing) gift from the Red Skull--but then, this was never about me.
[locked from Tony Stark. Who already knows this, but Sam doesn't really want to talk about it.]
(Which is, as much as anything else, why I'm registered. It did me no immediate personal harm to sign, as much as abhor the implications of the law for so many others.
The moment I'm ordered into government service away from Harlem, or more good can be done fighting directly, however, I've got plans to burn my card and go underground.)

It used to be not at all rare that I would meet super-powered teenagers in the streets of Harlem and be able to help them accept and use their powers. If it happened now, I could only tell them to hide them--hide them, or accept government service for life.
And now--at least some of that is no longer true. Some of the law is taken down for some few of the people affected.
Even to have a little bit of it struck down--it's vindication, of a sort. And a small amount of hope for more to come.
Revenge? That, I'm still waiting on. Working for. As soon as we find the ones responsible for Steve's [locked] apparent [/locked] death and make them pay.

In the meantime, I wouldn't object to revenge on Tony Stark. I suspect many of you can sympathize.

I'm still trying to find Bucky before *he* does anything stupid in the name of revenge. And to tell him he doesn't, actually, have a *death* to avenge.
