Beltane. It's cold, rainy weather, not a good night for being outdoors. She checks with some of the other practitioners in the Boston area, and hears that they're going to have an open gathering tomorrow for the festival. She may join them, but she ( Read more... )

Between worrying about Connor, Kara and the Immortal, Darla had spent more time pacing up and down in the last week than at any point after Angelus got souled. Which would leave her in no condition to face either Manners or Justine. She needed to unwind. Having heard about a Beltane celebration, she decides this sounds like a good idea, and soon finds herself standing in front of Willow's door.

Tadc's chatting with Sierra and is the first to spot the elegantly dressed woman at the front door. He goes over to open it, smiling.
Good evening. Willow! he calls, turning slightly. We've more company...

*hurries over* Darla? *surprised, gives her a warm smile* Hello!

Seeing the unfamiliar but powerful looking man and then Willow, Darla smiles at both of them.

Hello.

*to Willow*

It's been a while since my last party, and Beltane sounded just ideal, so... I hope you don't mind?

Adding with a deadpan expression

I always wanted to follow up that salad with something stronger.

He bows, stands aside to let her through the doorway.
My name's Tadc, miss...?

Darla,

she replies, crossing through the door, which still feels strange.

At least for the majority of my life.

((ooc: sorry for the wrong post earlier!))

A pleasure to meet you, Darla. He regards her thoughtfully. Are you one of Willow's
sister witches? Deliberately, he does not use the term
Wiccan, curious to see if she'll pick up on the distinction.

Darla does notice the phrasing, but then, a friend of Willow's celebrating Beltane would either be of the supernatural or of the neopagan kind, or both.

Neither a witch nor a Wiccan, I'm afraid,

she replies.

They used to burn both when I was young, and I was always rather attracted to survival.

Who isn't? Wry chuckle. I for one wouldn't go back to those years even if I could.

He glances around. Faith, I suspect you'd know, and her fiance--or one of them. Daniel Osborne. Brien is the taller man
next to her.
The redhead is my younger brother, Evan.

And I promise, none of us will bite.

I know who Faith is, but we never met. Same with Oz.

Brien and Evan being new entirely, though if Evan is his brother and thus another immortal, she might have heard of him under another name.

And you're all friends of Willow's?

And with a quick smile she adds, to his last statement

How do you know that I won't?

She's just teasing. He can probably sense she's human now.

Friends, or in some cases, such as Faith's, I think 'family'. In mine? Definitely friend and respectful--she's...unique.

Oh? Innocent look. I suppose I don't. Knowing that she's human, and intrigued by her.

Seriously, Darla says

She recently helped me in a very important matter. So I certainly share the respect.

Lighthearted again, she returns

Well, we'll see how the evening goes before you'll find out.

One can always hope. Tadc winks, before he politely excuses himself for a moment. Wonders if she enjoys dancing; he resolves to try to find out later.

With an amused smile, Darla turns towards Willow again (and events of the other thread ensue.*g*)

Oz looks up, feeling of 'eyes' on him, and waves hello. He's holding his guitar while he sits, tuning it.

Darla has heard Dingo's Ate My Baby occasionally in the Bronze when on the prowl, and thought the guitarist was far better than the hopeless vocalist. Bemused at the bizarre series of events that brought her here with two people from Sunnydale, she waves back.
