College mail is so strange, because you usually already know what the contents will say when you open it. These are the traditions of our lives. Big letter is good, small letter is bad. You haven't read anything yet, but you know what's coming.
A small letter from Brown came today, but it's okay. I wasn't expecting to get in anyway; I did a really half-assed job on the application because I just didn't care.
A nice large envelope, however, made its way to me today from California. I've been invited to join the class of 2009 at Harvey Mudd College. They also offered me a $10,000 per year merit scholarship. And I don't think I've ever felt so relieved. And happy.
Not to mention them paying for me to fly out there for accepted students day doesn't hurt either.
