Fatal Choice (Part 1 of 2) Part 3

The new boys were nothing special; arrogant little thugs all believing that they had what it takes to take down Miyagawa single handed and become gang leaders in their own right. But after half an hour of Kazuya’s cold silence and Jin’s sarcasm, their egos took a collective dive and they followed the handsome pair in quiet obedience.

Jin smirked at Kazuya knowingly and felt a familiar flutter when a smile was returned. It was only natural, he told himself, it had been far too long since he’d last gotten laid and other than himself, Kazuya was still the best looking member of the gang.

They stuck to the backstreets; times were dangerous and they weren’t about to take unnecessary risks, but eventually there came a point when they were forced to pass through a commercial area.

‘Act naturally,’ Jin warned the boys that followed him, ‘walk in pairs and keep your distance, there are eyes everywhere.’ He then moved towards Kazuya and left the others to follow.

They feigned idle chatter as they passed stores, and pointed playfully at billboards; to an outsider they would have looked like casual shoppers. They were almost to a point where they could easily disappear back into the shadows when a voice calling his name caused Kazuya to freeze.

‘Kazuya? It really is you!’ A man dressed in a suit that simply screamed wealth called to the obviously startled young man. Jin felt the man’s eyes sizing him up as two larger men appeared behind him. ‘Where have you been? Do you realise the scandal that you’ve caused? Have you heard the rumours? And who is this?’ The man’s voice was practically dripping with disgust as he beckoned to Jin.

Jin was about to react; to inform the man in less than polite terms, that no-one had the right to speak to him like that. But before he could gather his thoughts, Kazuya had moved towards him and practically draped himself across him.

‘I don’t know what you’re talking about father,’ Jin could hear the smirk in Kazuya’s tone, ‘what rumours?’

The man stiffened and visibly darkened, his eyes alight with rage, ‘stop it now!’ the man spat, ‘I don’t want any more of your nonsense.’

‘Nonsense, father?’ Kazuya said lightly, but Jin’s concentration was on the hand that was moving lightly over his chest, ‘what nonsense? You’re really not making any sense!’

‘Who are you?’ The man shouted at Jin, as he took a step forward, the two men behind him mirrored his action.

Jin flinched as he felt Kazuya squeeze his arm; a warning. ‘I…’ Jin had no idea what he was supposed to say, ‘I…’

‘I’ll tell you who he is!’ Kazuya suddenly released his hold on Jin and moved to face his father. ‘He’s the one that bends me over every night and makes me…’ The man moved to grab Kazuya but the boy blocked him and pulled him close, ‘…scream.’ He spat in his face.

To say that Jin was stunned would have been an understatement, but he had no time to dwell on it as the two men, that he guessed worked as bodyguards for Kazuya’s father, seized the boy and threw him to the ground.

‘You disgusting little fuck!’ Kazuya’s father delivered his son a kick in the face, ‘You won’t humiliate me like this; I’m going to get you fixed!’

Kazuya was on his hands and knees staring up at his father, a trail of blood ran from his lip to his chin and his eyes glimmered with a hatred that Jin had never seen there before. Suddenly he laughed and pushed himself back onto his heels, while he used the back of his hand to wipe away the blood. ‘You’ve tried that already!’ he smirked, ‘but unfortunately for you, I don’t want to be fixed.’ He rose to his feet. But his father had already turned back towards his body guards.

‘Bring him with us,’ he instructed, and then turned to Jin, ‘if you know what’s good for you then you’ll leave and forget that you ever met my son.’

Kazuya let out a frustrated cry as the two men easily overpowered him and started to drag him towards the large car that was parked a few feet away.

Jin laughed loudly and one of the giants sent him a confused look only to freeze a moment later when his eyes fell on the weapon that Jin had pulled from his belt.

‘I wouldn’t do that if I were you,’ Jin said coolly, ‘let him go and fuck off.’

‘Who do you think you are?’ the older Kamenashi snapped, but this just caused Jin to smirk.

‘He already told you who I am…’ he didn’t miss Kazuya’s surprise at the fact that he was playing along with the boyfriend story, but Jin was enjoying the rich father’s fury too much to deny it. ‘I’m not going to let you deprive me of that piece of ass now am I?’

‘Take him to the car!’ Kazuya’s father said coldly, ‘this punk is bluffing.’

Jin tilted his head, ‘am I?’ he grinned and then shot the man in the leg. The noise echoed around the street, and passersby who had previously been blissfully unaware of the drama taking place nearby, crouched automatically and held their arms over their heads. The bodyguards immediately released Kazuya and fell towards their boss, but neither Jin nor Kazuya waited around long enough for them to think to retaliate.

They ran through the traffic and darted towards the back streets, winding their way towards their new place of residence. Behind him Jin could hear the new boys chasing them; babbling in excitement and breathing heavily, but at that moment Jin only cared about the boy that ran a few feet ahead of him.

When they reached the building Kazuya threw himself through the door and headed straight to Isamu. ‘Key!’ the boy practically screamed, causing a deathly silence to fall over the room. Isamu stared at the frenzied young man who was usually the epitome of all things calm and cool. ‘Give me the key!’ Kazuya couldn’t stand still, his fists were balled and Jin could see that he was shaking.

‘What happened?’ Isamu smirked, and for a moment Jin thought that Kazuya might attack the boss.

‘Nothing,’ Jin interrupted, ‘it was just a close call…’

‘Then what’s he so wound up for?’ Jin could tell that Kazuya was on the verge of losing all control, and he couldn’t decide whether the prospect of witnessing that worried or excited him.

‘Just give me the key!’ Kazuya snapped.

‘Why?’

‘Shower…’ Kazuya’s voice cracked, and Jin felt a jolt that he couldn’t explain.

‘You look clean to me….’ Isamu reached into his pocket and leisurely took out a pipe.

‘Just give him the key!’ Jin’s voice was quiet but firm.

Isamu raised an eyebrow and then treat him with a yellowed smile, ‘Akanishi…anyone would think that you cared about this little pretty boy…’ The surrounding boy’s snickered visibly and Kazuya started to blush.

‘Think?’ Jin emphasised his sarcasm with a cruel smirk, ‘I wouldn’t expect such miraculous phenomena from anyone present.’ He paused to see the disgruntled confusion that immediately spread over the faces of his companions, and sighed, ‘I don’t want to sleep in the same room as someone in that state,’ he beckoned casually to Kazuya, who glared at him coldly, ‘so give him the key and let him do what he has to do.’

Isamu rolled his eyes and inhaled from his pipe. ‘I wasn’t aware that you were such a good wife Akanishi…’ he drawled, and the customary snickering started again.

Jin just grinned and quipped back; ‘Well you never were the observant type were you, Nishida?’ He held out his hand expectantly, ‘I don’t mean to rush you but the new boys are no doubt awaiting that famous little speech of yours, and I know how you enjoy delivering it.’

‘Watch your tongue, brat.’ Isamu snapped as he plunged into his pocket and threw the key at Jin, who smirked and gave his usual two finger salute before turning towards the staircase located by the door.

He let out a sigh as he moved out of sight and sent Kazuya a quick look; the boy’s eyes were cast downwards but the rest of his body language showed his obvious distress. They reached their new apartment quickly and Jin wasted no time in opening the door, stumbling inside and seeking out the bedroom. The room as unremarkable as the last one had been; the cheap oak had been varnished to an unsightly shade of orange, the mat that he trod of was frayed and fading, a beam of light shone onto murky bed linen through the missing panel of the blinds and the botched paintwork of the walls was chipped and streaky.

Kazuya moved passed him and fell silently to his knees in front of the large holdall that contained his belongings. Jin briefly wondered which of his gang mates had been given the task of transporting their luggage, but he didn’t dwell on such ponderings as he took a hesitant step towards his roommate.

‘Hey…’ he said casually, but the moment that he spoke he felt his heart start to pound a little faster, ‘are you okay?’

‘I’m fine.’ Came the curt response. Kazuya had his head bowed as he rummaged through his belongings but even from a short distance Jin could see that he was still shaking.

Under normal circumstances Jin would have shrugged off the younger man’s rudeness and continued with his own business, but Jin was fast coming to realise that whenever Kazuya was concerned, his behaviour transformed into anything but normal. ‘You don’t look fine,’ he said, and he was surprised by the gentleness in his own tone, ‘and out there you definitely weren’t…’

‘It’s got nothing to do with you!’ Kazuya snapped suddenly as he turned and glared at him. Jin would have been insulted had the boy’s eyes not been puffy and sparkling slightly; for a moment Jin couldn’t breathe. Unaware of the affect that he was having on his older companion Kazuya continued, ‘I’m going to shower.’ And he stood up and moved towards the door.

If he’d been asked later about what had come over him, Jin wouldn’t have been able to offer an answer, but somehow he found himself crossing the room and blocking Kazuya’s route. ‘Wait…’ he grabbed the boy by the arm, only to have cold, piercing eyes locked on him.

‘What?’ Kazuya hissed as he pulled his arm free, ‘you think that we have some sort of bond now? You think that I owe you something?’

Jin couldn’t read the emotion in those beautiful eyes but he knew that he didn’t like it. Kazuya was still trembling and Jin was almost certain that the boy was about to burst into tears. He knew that he should have been angry, for he’d never been known for his patience, but somehow Kazuya’s words only worked to fill him with a regretful sadness and worry. ‘I didn’t say that!’ he defended.

‘You don’t have to say anything!’ Kazuya seemed genuinely distressed and hurt about something, ‘what do you want from me?’

Jin was completely baffled, ‘what? I don’t want anything!’

‘Then get out of my way!’ there was an urgency in Kazuya’s voice that Jin couldn’t help likening to fear. ‘I need to shower…’

‘You showered less than four hours ago!’ Jin pointed out, ‘I think that you should calm down and…’

‘Don’t tell me what to do!’ Kazuya screamed. Jin flinched, and then scowled; why was his roommate acting so strangely?

‘Look, there’s no need to get so fucking worked up!’ he snapped as he finally started to lose his patience, ‘just because you’ve got family problems and obvious issues about your sexuality…’

‘I do not!’ Kazuya shouted and pushed him hard in the chest, causing him to collide with the door.

Jin grimaced as his back scraped against the metal handle, and he gritted his teeth. ‘You’re going to regret that, you little shit!’ he snapped, as he moved forward to seize Kazuya, pushing the irritated boy harshly forwards and onto the closest bed.

Kazuya didn’t bother to struggle as Jin easily pinned him beneath him, and it was this strange stillness that caused him to pause. What exactly had he planned on doing next?  He stared down into sparkling eyes, and he could tell that Kazuya was suddenly frightened to meet his stare. ‘Look at me!’ he found himself shouting, and when the boy didn’t comply he grabbed him roughly by the face. A single tear fell from Kazuya’s eye as their eyes met and Jin felt like something alien, unwanted was touching his heart; he wanted the sensation to go away but it refused. He knew that whatever it was that he was feeling, it was directly related to Kazuya, and for reasons unknown, he wanted nothing more than to prevent the beautiful boy’s tears.

Jin closed his eyes and allowed his head to fall forwards so that his dark, chocolate hair fell onto Kazuya’s cheeks. ‘This is wrong…’ he whispered, so quietly that even Kazuya could barely make out his words.

‘What?’ Kazuya breathed, but Jin didn’t know how to answer…didn’t understand why he was feeling so strange. ‘Jin?’ he flinched as he heard his name spoken a little more loudly, ‘are you okay?’

He laughed bitterly and raised his head a little so that he could stare down into Kazuya’s handsome face. ‘Didn’t I just ask you that question?’ he loosened his hold on the wrists that he’d pinned awkwardly above Kazuya’s head and stroked his hand unconsciously down the boy’s arm as he concentrated on the boy’s face.

Kazuya was staring at him searchingly, ‘I’m sorry,’ the fair haired boy whispered eventually, ‘I guess I overreacted…I didn’t know what you’d do when you found out…’

‘What? That you like boys?’ Jin knew that he should pull back, knew that he was more than just invading Kazuya’s personal space but he couldn’t bring himself to move. Kazuya swallowed and nodded. ‘Why would I care?’ Jin suddenly found his eyes trained on the pale lips that were parted slightly and temptingly close to his own.

‘You mean…’ Kazuya paused and started to move his arms down from above his head, ‘…you’re also…’

‘I’m open minded,’ Jin smiled; past experience had proven the term to be an understatement.

Kazuya’s eyes were darting from side to side as he struggled to comprehend the current situation, ‘so…what does that mean?’

Jin bit his bottom lip and smiled before slowly lowering himself onto his prize. A moment of hesitation, a slight struggle and then Kazuya gave in and yielded to the kiss. It didn’t take long for Jin to remove the fabric that concealed Kazuya from him, and he couldn’t resist the urge to pull back and admire what was about to be his. The lie that Kazuya had told to his father came back to him, and he couldn’t conceal the victorious smirk that spread over his lips as his eyes scanned over pale, naked skin.

Kazuya it seemed was not in a patient mood, and he didn’t approve of Jin sitting there fully clothed and examining him with a smile on his face. So the boy pulled himself up and reached out to remove Jin’s shirt, and soon enough Jin found himself just as exposed and incredibly aroused as he watched his soon to be lover move from the bed to retrieve the necessary lubricant from his bag.

Before long tight head surrounded his fingers and Kazuya’s moans filled the room. Jin could hardly contain himself as he imagined the same sensation around his cock. He knew that he should be patient, should wait for Kazuya to feel comfortable and adjusted, but the burning need was proving to be too much and so without warning he withdrew his fingers and hastily smothered himself in preparation.

Kazuya closed his legs slightly and started to pull himself up, his breathing heavy, his cock proud against his stomach. Jin smirked, as he reached forwards and forced the boy’s legs apart, to position himself in-between them. He could feel the naked boy beneath him struggling slightly but he ignored it as he gripped him and pushed inside.

‘Fuck!’ Kazuya cried, as he clenched his eyes shut, ‘you fucking…’ he started to groan in either pain, pleasure or both, but Jin was past caring as he buried himself in the beautiful boy, and after giving the impaled boy only a moment to adjust he started to move.

He could feel Kazuya’s short nails against the skin of his back and the boy was whimpering beautifully. Closing his eyes he started to lose himself to the rhythm, revelling in the feeling and quickly nearing climax, but as he did so he felt himself being pulled closer as Kazuya’s hold on him tightened. He opened his eyes again to find Kazuya moaning and crying simultaneously; teary eyes trained on him as he gasped in pleasure in time to Jin’s thrusts. The sight almost caused Jin to stop breathing as he reached between them and fastened his hand around Kazuya’s cock, causing the boy to jerk and moan in surprise as he started to pump. And moments later it was all over as Jin came with a pleasured growl, and Kazuya followed quickly after with a cry of Jin’s name.

They paused as they both struggled to regain control of their breathing, they stared at each other in silence, and Jin was very much aware that Kazuya had not loosened his hold on him. He felt a pang in his chest as tears continued to trickle down Kazuya’s perfect face; had he been too rough? And then reality hit him, and his head started to spin. He’d just bedded his biggest rival; he was connected to someone that he one day might have to kill. He tried to pull away but Kazuya wouldn’t let go.

‘Let go!’ he said coldly, and tried to ignore the pain that the hurt in Kazuya’s eyes caused him.

‘Don’t think about it…’ Kazuya pleaded, ‘it doesn’t matter right now…’

‘It was just a fuck, don’t get the wrong idea.’ He started to struggle against Kazuya’s hold, ‘let go!’

‘I don’t want to,’ Kazuya was almost sobbing now, and Jin found the boy’s unpredictable emotions a little unsettling, ‘I don’t want to let you go.’

Jin couldn’t decide how he felt about that but he knew that he couldn’t let Kazuya in on his indecisiveness. ‘I don’t care what you want!’ he snarled, ‘what I said to your father was the truth! You’re just a piece of ass. Now get your fucking hands off me!’ His words worked like magic and before he knew it he was off the bed and rummaging through his belongings.

Kazuya had curled himself into a ball, and when Jin sneaked a peak at him he could see his shoulders shaking as he cried silently.

He swallowed. He was Akanishi Jin; the loner, the daredevil, the hooligan who lived for the chase, while Kazuya was an enemy, a threat, a stepping stone on the way to victory. Emotional involvement could prove to be fatal; it was a risk that he wasn’t willing to take. Kazuya had been an indulgence, a treat that he was desperate to devour but now it was over and he couldn’t let himself stray again. From now on he would treat the beautiful boy with a cold indifference and when the time came he would kill him without pause.

Grabbing a small shower bag and a towel he rose to his feet, stared at the boy on the bed, and he felt his chest tighten predictably. He shook his head and made his way out of the room and towards the bathroom. The door slammed loudly behind him, and the boy on the bed continued to cry.
