[Phone]

So I just talk into this end and everyone else can hear me? What an interesting device~ It’s almost like Patchouli’s magic. I just wish there was a picture too…

[The child-like curiosity in her voice is soon replaced by a rather haughty yet refined tone]

In any case, I suppose I should introduce myself, shouldn’t I? My name is Remilia Scarlet ( Read more... )

i'm not a little kid, sending out the bat-signal, sdm assemble!, obey my orders!

[Wandering by on his way to the next street over, but a spectacle like this is just too good to pass up... WELP just going to pause on his way down the sidewalk and cheer her on, then. Tiny people with big egos unite!!!!]

You really don't need to, you know. That's just a drone.

[turning around to address the new OH FUCK NOW DRONE MOM CLOSED THE DOOR ON HER LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE]

[OOPS.... he is totally sympathetic to her plight okay, just ignore the mild fit of laughter.]

A drone. They've no real will or mind of their own, you know. If they bother you, just trick them into the basement and lock the door.

Locking people in the basement? That's not really something I want to repeat more than necessary.

It's a bit of a nuisance, isn't it? [even if drones aren't quite as difficult to keep locked up as deranged little sisters...] Still, it's one of the best ways to deal with them. They're quite persistent and often times won't leave you alone otherwise.

Hmph. Well, I'll keep that in mind.

[...you've been both helpful and agreeable, even if you had a part in sentencing her to an afternoon full of sunshine exposure to other people. You will be graced with MANNERS. For now.]

I'm Remilia Scarlet. And you are...?

[he'll return the manners in kind then, having no reason to be unpleasant. yet.]

Charles. A pleasure to meet you, even if the circumstances could certainly be more desirable. [well they were kind of humorous, at least...] You're new here, yes? How recent was your arrival?

Just an hour or so ago. How long have you been here?

Over one and a half years, unfortunately, but the stay of any individual can vary greatly. Some stay for only a few days, others for years.

My, that sounds terrible. That's much more than what anyone could simply call a kidnapping.

Yes, after the first week or so it all becomes rather monotonous and more like a vaguely forced new living situation rather than a kidnapping. Some are even content to stay here on most days. [the days that don't involve being droned or axed to death by hazmats, for instance...]

There are resistances attempting to figure out a permanent way to leave but in the time I've been here, no one has ever succeeded.

I suppose if the prison is as idyllic as this, one might be tempted to grow complacent.

There's really been no progress in escaping?

It is terribly easy at times, especially after you begin to regain your missing items and abilities. Even so, the town often goes out of its way to remind us that we are very much a society of captives.

There hasn't. More information is known now than a year ago, but seeing as people are still getting droned and no one has physically left for long, it isn't very notable progress.

Hmph. Well, you can't mistreat someone all the time or they'll grow used to even that. Giving them breaks in between just makes the cruelty all the more shocking.

Hmm... and considering how long people have been here, that's rather worrisome.

Yes, a tried and true tactic. That doesn't make it any less of a nuisance, nor does it keep some of the idiots from being surprised every time something goes wrong even if it happens on a near-monthly basis.

It's unfortunate, to say the least. I suppose this is where I tell you to enjoy your stay since it might be a lengthy one, but false pleasantries won't make the situation any less troublesome.

For a human, a month is more than long enough for them to settle back down and grow used to peace.

Well, there's no reason we can't be pleasant to each other.
