Running out of spare parts...

Even though I'm sure most of the people who read this already know this by now, last Friday I had surgery. Again. Eight years ago, they took my appendix. Now they've taken my gallbladder. I'm running out of spare parts...

Anyway, the procedure itself was pretty quick and painless (well duh, I was asleep), and they must have put some REAL GOOD STUFF in my IV, because I didn't feel any pain until the next day. It was outpatient, by the way, so as soon as I woke up and was stable and (somewhat) coherent, I went home.

Stayed up for a while after I got home (they either put something in me to wake me up or didn't use much anesthesia), but flat out crashed around 8 (surgery was at 2.45ish, I got home around 5.30). Woke up next morning, wanted my pain pill. Wanted my pain pill BAD. I has four holes in me, one small one in my bellybutton, another small one about three inches diagonally upward and to the right, one more small one about six inches directly to the right of my bellybutton, and one freaking huge (inch and a half, about) incision about six inches above my bellybutton, in the middle of my ribcage and over all my major stomach muscles, and that's the hole they pulled my gallbladder out of. And the hole they had to enlarge because apparently I had the Gallstone from Hell(tm) in there.

So, not only is that lovely little big hole on top of all the muscles in my stomach, it's also been stretched and yanked on and whatever when they pulled my gallbladder out. Guess who still can't sit up under her own power without pushing or pulling herself up?

Anyway, my 10 day followup appointment was today, so I got poked and prodded a little bit and answered some questions. Gotta go back one more time the day before school starts. Hopefully I won't be having all the lovely pain I'm in right now... My incisions don't hurt anymore, if anything they itch like crazy 'cause they're almost healed... but all the stuff they sutured shut under the skin is really starting to show itself.

Ibuprofen horse pill good. Percoset bad. I'm never taking that med again as long as I live...

Other than that, I'm doing okay. It takes me longer to digest food than it used to because of the lack of readily available bile, so I've only been eating like one meal a day, two if I feel like it. On the plus side, I've lost weight because of that. :p

But anyway, it's clouding up and starting to thunderstorm... I should probly get off my computer. A nap sounds nice... I haven't gotten all my energy back yet...
