so yea, went to my first concert since Japan and it was for the one and only UTADA, as in Utada Hikaru! pretty freaking amazing I'd have to say, and at a fraction of what the cost could have been in Japan!
loved how she did about half Japanese and half English songs from all over her career. it was kinda like a time machine for the past decade listening to the songs as I remember when I heard this song or that song throughout high school and college. and did I mention that she sounded AMAZING?! like seriously, when she sang "Passion" it was freaking beautiful. overall happy with the songs she sang, cept for some of the more awkward English songs. but her MC breaks were great XD everything from talking about cold weather to giving everybody a 'hug' was just cute and funny :D
things that kinda were a downer: about four or five really tall people were in front of me so couldn't see as much as I'd liked. also, what they hell was up with the DJ spinning for like an hour?! not that he was bad, but the audience was impatient for UTADA like I was and he showed up like unannounced. oh well. oh, and how the tickets weren't by number order liked I thought. it was like that in Japan... bleh, if I'd known I would have arrived a lot earlier to get closer.
BUT that doesn't matter. I was standing at the right place when at the end she tossed out signed baseballs to the crowd. and I caught one!!!! holy @#%! can't believe it still XD
signed, dated and a little kuma picture XD guess she was inspired by her recent trip to the Art Institute that she drew her own version of the farmer and the wife painting XD
also glad I got to see everybody!! saw just about everybody that I knew was going and it was great to see them :D like...a good portion of my friends list went to the concert (some already blogged about it lol). saw everybody except
chibi_nasu :( it was hard to find anybody in that place and it had like no reception >_>
overall very happy with the concert~! hope she drops by again in the future!
