so.... sorry for the kinda hiatus ^_^;; being away from my computer is not a good thing. as compensation this update is larger than usual, as I have like 3, 4 weeks of stuff to get up. the releases are slowing down now (whew) so I can start getting to your requests ^_^ anywho, enjoy all the new stuff~

INFO: a solo singer whose real name is Asada Kaori. she's fluent in both Japanese and English and moved to the USA in 1998. she writes and composes all her songs, as well as play the guitar and piano. she has worked with many producers from around the world and so far has released several albums, the most recent being "Golden Tears".
THOUGHTS: omgomg new BONNIE PINK single~!! ^___^ and its sooooooo gooood, as expected from her ^___^ nice mixture of synth and acoustic guitars, and of course her vocals for a optimistic single.

m-flo loves melody. - STUCK IN YOUR LOVE
INFO: m-flo used to be made up of DJ Taku, rapper VERBAL, and singer LISA. they all met in an international school in Japan. LISA is half Colombian and Japanese while VERBAL is Korean. they released two albums until 2002 when LISA went to do her solo career. now m-flo is featuring artists to do the singing part.
THOUGHTS: ho dang their new album has a LOT of great artists on it! (finally a Ku collab! now give me one with Yuna Ito or K.) but this track with melody. has got to be my fav so far. its just HOT. lol.

Koda Kumi - BUT
INFO: a solo Jpop/J-urban singer who originally tried out for Tsunku’s Morning Musume. after not making it she went solo and released her first single "Take Back" in 2000. however she didn't get very popular until she did a duet with BoA, a Kpop/Jpop singer, and sang the theme songs for Final Fantasy X-2. she also did a cover of the theme song for the movie Cutie Honey.
THOUGTHS: not a fan of the video or the performances, but the song itself is catchy. sounds kinda erratic with the beat and the electronic sounds, though its all good. glad that this release is decent, she had me worried.

Hoshimura Mai - Sakura Biyori 桜日和
INFO: a solo artist who started playing the piano at the age of 4. she has released several singles, her debut being in 2002 with the song "Natsuiro no Campus". a year later she released her first album "SOUP".
THOUGHTS: yay finally more Hoshimura Mai~ and this song is just so pretty, especially the chorus ^_^ everything just flows so well.

HOME MADE KAZOKU - Nagare Boshi ~shooting star~ 流れ星 ~shooting star~
INFO: a hip-pop and J-urban trio of MCs MICRO and KURO, both are from America, with club DJ U-ICHI. they formed in 1996 and started earning a reputation for their live performances. they released several indies tracks before officially debuting in 2004. they are known for doing a theme song to the popular anime "Bleach".
THOUGHTS: hmm, I think I skipped out on when they released this song as a single. whoops. anywho, they got a new album out, but I'll put up this single ^^; good, not over the top rap with some singing as well.

Remioromen - Akanezora 茜空
INFO: a Jrock band with three members, Fujimaki Ryouta on guitar and as lead vocalist, Maeda Keisuke on bass, and Jinguji Osamu on drums. they formed in 2000 but didn't start releasing music in 2003 and have since released two albums. their name is a jumble of selected words by each band member through rock-paper-scissors.
THOUGHTS: after a few listens, I'm really really liking their new single. the chorus just pulled me in. good midtempo light rock song.

YA-KYIM - MUSUNDE
INFO: a R&B trio of the MC MIKU and ALISA and YURIE as vocalists. their group name comes from mixing up two letters of their name (the y's from YURIE, the 'a' and 'i' from ALISA, and 'm' and 'k' from MIKU. they debuted with the single "Clap 'n Clap" in April 2005.
THOUGHTS: mmm their new album will be my J-urban fix for a while. the beginning of the song is funny/amusing, but after that the beat kicks in. the song's title is this week's password.

alice nine. - JEWELS
INFO: a Jrock band with members Shou (vocals), Hiroto (guitar), Tora (guitar), Saga (bass), and Nao (drums). Nao formed the band in 2004 and they released their first maxi single in July that same year.
THOUGHTS: been awhile since I had some visual rock here. so here's their new single. its pretty good considering I'm not usually a huge fan of this genre.

Mr.Children - Irodori 彩り
INFO: one of the most popular bands in Japan for the past several years. they are led by Sakurai, who sings and writes both the lyrics and music for the group. the other band members are Hideya, Kenichi, and Keisuke. they were known as The WALLS before Hideya joined and played for several years together before signing with Toy's Factory. they released their first album back in 1992 called "Everything".
THOUGHTS: and the music giant is back with an album to kick out the competition. XD this track is a slower paced song sure to please their fans.

JYONGRI - Getting Funky!
INFO:a new young solo singer that debuted in late 2006 with the single "Possession/My All For You". she learned to play piano at a young age and attended an international school. her debut album, "Close to Fantasy", released March 21, 2007.
THOUGHTS: overall good debut album by her. the opening track is a good dance pop song, especially at the end. ^^

INFO: a well known singer and 'seiyuu' (voice actor) she made her debut with both in 1996 with the anime "The Vision of Escaflowne". after that, she's been in many anime series and some Japanese dubs and has released several albums. she works closely with the famous composer Yoko Kanno.
THOUGHTS: new mini album by her~! and she's back to good music, her last album kinda had me worried as it wasn't that great. anywho, the opening track is just amazing.

Monkey Majik + SEAMO - Sotsugyou, Soshite Mirai e 卒業、そして未来へ。
INFO: a group that consists of Canadian brothers Maynard and Blaise Plant, Takuya Kikuchi, and DICK. the brothers sing and play guitar while the other two are the drummer and bassist. they first released in 2002, but until 2006 gained immense popularity with the singles "fly" and "Around the World".
THOUGHTS: ooo another collab~ and its pretty good once again, nice mix of singing and rapping. the video is sweet too.

Kobukuro - Tsubomi 蕾
INFO: a male duo of Kentaro Kobuchi and Shunsuke Kuroda, who took parts of their names to create their name. after releasing several indies albums, they came out with their debut single, "Yell", in 2001. since then they have become very popular. later in 2007, they collaborated with singer ayaka with the single "Winding Road".
THOUGHTS: hm, so I guess my Japanese name would be Tsubomi. lol. same character. anywho, another solid single by the two and you can see why they are so popular.
