For just how long does this weather insist on being miserably cold? I have had quite enough of this season.

rachel does not like winter, why can't i go home to my awesome house, stupid cold

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there's like six more weeks of this crap. Didn't really start warming up until March of last year, and even then it was still a lot cooler than I would've cared for.

Sorry. The weather from where you're from is much more pleasant, I take it.

My home is permanently and pleasantly autumnal.

Huh. How would that happen? Magic, or something?

Precisely.

Hmm. And there's no way to replicate that here, probably because of the power cap.

[After all, if Rachel could've, she would've. He knows her that well, at least.]

It exists in a dimension over which I have absolute control.

That dimension is not accessible from a place like this.

That would do it, all right.

[...If Rachel has the ability to control a whole dimension, she must be pretty powerful. He got that impression from her to begin with, but that kind of power is an impressive feat. Not that he'll say that much aloud.]

It is a magnificent place. A far cry from this dismal experiment.

What's it like, Rachel?

[He actually is genuinely interested.]

...I take my tea every night out in front of my family's palatial home, underneath a peerless, eternally full moon in the middle of my flawless rose garden.

It stretches beneath you like a scarlet bed. I do so miss its fragrance.

Sounds relaxing. ...Someone I know back home would probably love that sort of setting.

If someone would not, I would have cause to question their mental faculties.
