Standing on the bridge, we overlooked the water and gazed out into the distance as firework festivities from all over the city reflected off the rippled river.

Then the boats passed, the drawbridge went down and our serene glimpse of a normal fourth of July was interuppted by the van emergency lights and loud horn that come hand in hand with a mom on a mission; a mom on her way to the emergency room.

My brother's ok, he had a sleu of syptoms longer than the line for listing them, but he's ok now, that's the important part.

Sitting in the wating room really woke me up though. One can't help but feel compassion for some of the patients waiting in tears of agony. We are so fortunate for good health, limbs that work and we take it for granted every day. Think about it, if you're sitting there reading this and nothing hurts, you're not sick and your smiling and feeling fine, Thank the lord because life is good.

on a side note the phenomenon known as four on four halo is about to unfold in my living room...i won't be playing, but this will be a site to see! Family, I love them.
