Last weekend part 3
Where were we?
Oh yeah Saturday. Left MK at about half 8 and it was raining. Sooooo glad I was in a hotel this year. I was a bit apprehensive that we'd get there in time with the traffic but it was no problem, even when we went on a little country excursion through Whittlebury. We ended up in the car park behind the main stand and got there a good half an hour before practice. Watched pratice from Copse and then looked at the shops again before qualy. Ally had another look at the Honda T-shirt for £50
Decided to watch qualy from Luffield A as we reckoned it was the least windy grandstand to sit in and we were right. Laughed when Lewis went wide and laughed even more when Heikki beat him to start on pole. I do want to like Lewis I really do but he's just got so big headed this year. I prefer drivers who just get on with it. In 2004 Michael was in a different league to everyone else but he never said that a race was easy. Lewis has done that on more than one occasion already this year and it smacks of arrogance. Then you have all the so called f1 fans who were cheering Jenson on a few years ago and have now moved on to Lewis because he's the latest big thing from britain. I'm sure there are genuine fans out there that have followed his career from GP2 etc but equally there are those that just jump on the bandwagon.
Anyway after much deliberation Ally decided that she would get the Honda t-shirt and stuff the cost but when they unwrapped it she didn't like the material so she went for a torro rosso t-shirt instead. As for myself, I haven't quite got to the stage of wearing other drivers t-shirts and I have enough Ferrari shirts so apart from a programme I didn't buy anything!! We hung around the Red Bull stand and waited for DC. Considering he was at one time my least favourite driver I've waited around an awful lot for him recently. Managed to get a couple of pics with my new camera which was more down to luck than anything else as it was a bit of a rugby scrum. Anyway then we left and went back to the hotel.
Watched the last in the series of Dr Who? OMG what an episode. It was so sad at the end too :o( Then just had some nibbles in the bar before an early night.
