Yet another movie that doesn't need to be remade is going to be remade.

Okay, look...The Crow isn't a great movie. It's not even that good. But it's got its own place in history, and also OMGWTFBRANDONLEE. The only time that movie could be made and work was 1994. The world is no longer that world. STOP IT, HOLLYWOOD ( Read more... )

And lots of those guys were straight out of school! It was a great starting point. It was so weird for me to see them as other characters at first. Simmons as the psychiatrist on L&O? I was like "WTF is a big Nazi doing as a psychiatrist! That's not right!"

And seeing Meloni and Dead Winter's as good cops in SVU was confusing at first, lol.

I always see the rest of the cast popping up in the L&O franchise. I can't tell you their real names, but I can tell you who they were on OZ.

I did like the way they left the series - utterly open ended. If they had wrapped everything up in a neat bow, it just wouldn't have worked out well.

I suppose they could have worked with Tobias's story line for a while - if he was prosecuted and maybe sent to death row for Keller's 'murder', but he'd either die, or his character would trail off into the background. What killed me was when they killed off Kareem Said; I adored his character.

I actually don't have it all on DVD yet - its expensive. I have the first two, and then I downloaded the entire series online.

What's even more amusing is that Meloni & Winters were playing both parts simultaneously. I don't know I could have switched between such polar characters and still have made both as good as they did (I'm a HUGE SVU fan as well.)

Oh, I'm sure that they'd have found SOMETHING to do with Tobias, but it wouldn't have been the same - that arc was really the heart of the series, as far as I'm concerned. After all, it started with his incarceration, and ended with the death of his main rival and lover.

I lucked out on the DVD's - I think I picked up the first 5 seasons a few years back (before the 6th season was released) on Ebay for something reasonable - $120 or so. I'd recommend seeing what deals you can find there - it's a great resource for picking up boxed sets of TV shows for a fair bit less than retail. I just picked up the complete run of Homicide: Life on the Streets for $150, which is about the price of 2 seasons of that show.
