Losing friends
Ok, so my best friend Frankie, we used to hang out all the time, I was over at his place every week just to hang out or swim or play video or board games.
Things have been getting rough between him and his partner Joey. Some major commitment issues on Joeys side (according to Frankie). Well a few months ago, Frankie met Ian, Ian is a really great and nice guy, they start hanging out all the time, soon I notice that I'm not being invited to hiking trips anymore, or being thought of when they do a road trip to a place to ride a ride.
I know people drift apart, I was sad to see Frankie (and Ian, he is a great guy too, but Frankie is my best friend.) drifting away from me, but I under stand these things. I didn't let it go without a fight, and Frankie constantly reassured me that I will always be his bestie, but he continued to drift.
Now I could also see Frankie was falling in love with Ian and Frankie admitted as much to me when I pressed him. I also know Frankie and I think he was using Ian two fold, to fill a gap in his life that he desperately needed to have fulfilled...... And..... To make Joey jealous.
Well Frankie and Ian house sat for us when we went to gay days at Disneyland. When we got back we said hello to each other, they left and that was the last time I saw Frankie. I tried to text him a few times but if I got him to respond, it was a very short conversation, then the last time I spoke to him was the 13th. Yesterday I gave my last attempt to contact Frankie, mind you, Ian has been chatting with me this whole time. So when Frankie never responds I send a quick good morning text to Ian. Before Ian can respond I finally get a text from Frankie. He has left and moved to Arkansas, he didn't tell anyone. He is gonna live with his dad out there.
Right after this Ian calls me and says that Frankie took off and he hopes I would not be mad at him. I told him of course I would not, Frankie made his own choices, you didn't make him do it. I send Joey a quick text hug and tell Jim if there is anything he needs to let me know.
Later i find out that a mutual friend of ours, Brandon, actually knew that Frankie was gonna take off since Monday. Now I'm just really hurt! Frankie couldn't tell me any of this?? He has only met Brandon a few times! I'm supposed to be his best friend!!
Later that evening I am at a friends house watching the remake of dawn of the dead, Frankie calls, right now I'm seeing a movie and I'm pissed, so I figure the call can wait til after the movie, 20 mins later, he calls again, this time he leaves a voice mail.
As soon as I leave my friends house I check the message, and Frankie is cussing and yelling at me because I took "his" side. And says how I was supposed to be his best friend. Now I'm super hurt. I call him back and leave a voicemail that how date you fucking say that! I havnt taken anyone's side! I lost my fucking best friend today you fucking asshole!
I call Ian and find out that Frankie has been doing some dick head moves trying to make Ian jealous and Ian is done with him.
Near midnight I get a text from Frankie, he says that Joey told him that I ha nothing but bad things to tell Joey about Frankie leaving. Since I never actually spoke to Joey other than a hug text, I told Frankie that. Frankie seems to back pedal a bit then that's was the end of it.
I let Ian know what Frankie said about Joey because apparently Frankie has been leaving angry and hurtful voicemails to him. So I wanted Ian to know thy Joey, may, have something to do with it but I don't know for sure, Frankie may have been blowing smoke up my ass.
So yeah, that's how my day went yesterday.
