Yes, I wanted to go to bed early tonight, but, apparently, Sidney Crosby had different plans for me.
If the Red Wings win this game (Game #5 of the Stanley Cup Finals), they win the Cup, but the Penguins can't win unless they force a game seven. With just over thirty seconds left in regular time, a goal by the Pens brought the game to overtime. After three periods and two OTs, the game is still tied at three.
It's really obvious that everyone is exhausted (they should be after playing 100 minutes of intense hockey), but they all keep fighting hard. All of this is definitely worth it, though, for the very beautiful prize of the
Stanley Cup.
So, if you're up at this hour and don't have anything to do, flip to NBC to watch the rest of the game--you won't be disappointed. Plus, you get to see everyone's playoff beards, so that's cool, too.
( Sorry this is all really random, but I just needed something to do while waiting for the 3rd OT to start).
I'll edit this and post the final score later.
EDIT: It's going back to Pittsburgh! YEAH!
The goal was by Petr Sykora (he used to play for the Devils!), assisted by Evgeni Malkin. The weird thing is he called the goal, too!
Yes--I get to watch more hockey on Wednesday and, hopefully, on Saturday, too!
All right, it's bedtime (for real this time)!
