Twins Likely to Change Demands For Santana

Nov 28, 2007 18:16

Previously, it was reported that the Twins wanted Jacoby Ellsbury in any deal for Santana but the Red Sox were unwilling to give him up. The Twins, however, are now on the verge of acquiring Delmon Young and Brandon Harris. If the Twins do acquire Young, they'd likely have no place for Ellsbury and so would be likely to change their demands.

The Twins could still use some better offensive production from a middle infielder and a third baseman. Earlier today, it was reported that Jed Lowrie, Brandon Moss, Coco Crisp, and Kevin Youkilis have recently come up in trade talks. The Twins could certainly use Lowrie, and if they move Cuddyer back to third base, they could use Brandon Moss in right as well. Youkilis, it has been reported, was brought up but didn't intrigue the Twins all that much.
