According to ESPN deportes (in Spanish), David Ortiz is close to signing a $50 million contract extension with the Red Sox, reportedly earning an average salary of $12.5 million per season from 2007 - 2010

They're talking about it on WEEI right now...No official word but it looks like its going to happen.
