Heh, maybe. Worked it out though - The C:, D:, and E: drives were all partitions off the same 500gb Sata drive. F: and G: were the second 500gb sata drive. Now get this - when I unplugged both drives, windows gets to the install screen no bother. With just one in (the F: and G: drive), bluescreen. C:, D: and F: drive, No bluescreen!! Which is odd considering that that second drive was purely for storing games and game installs. During normal windows use, and in theory setup, that physical drive shouldnt be touched.
I had been installing Media Player 10 - on the c: drive. Dev0, Par1, my windows install drive. It works fine.
The 'untouched' games drive got so corrupted that it would crash the machine.

WTF?!

Anyway, I have left the second drive disconected and just installed Vista where my XP install used to be.
And despite the horror stories and general bad experiences in the past, Vista... isnt that bad now I have had the chance to poke around in its innards.
The networking stuff is a bit wierd, but once I got used to it, it is as good as XP if not better.
So I'm happy so far. Will see how it goes from here on. And the dodgy drive is coming to work with me this morning. For.... tasting...

Mwa hah hah hah... *crackle of lightning*
