Recap It wasn't necessarily pretty, but it was a win, and at this point, we need all the wins we can get. I caught about half of the final goal-line stand in bonus coverage before "contractual obligations" caused the station to flip to the Steelers game. So I didn't see the play, but from the stats, the ground game was going well, the passing game was alright. Comments from those who watched it?
(Side note: My wife and I are moving across town in a couple of weeks, and there's a place nearby the new house that purports to be a Redskins bar. Depending on how the rest of my weekends shake out, starting the end of this season and into next I might be able to go watch a few more of the actual games. It's a shame the food there isn't very good, but hopefully they'll have a hard cider or two on tap!)
We're two games below .500, but only a game and a half out of the division lead. And this is about the point last year where we turned things around and rocketed to a great season end with a division title. So I'm not quite ready to call the season over yet. (Although given how well it worked last year, Shanahan might want to give another one of those "at this point, we're playing to see who's sticking around" speeches!)
Next week, we visit the Vikings, while Dallas visits the Saints, the Eagles visit the Packers, and the Giants host Oakland. If conventional wisdom wins out, the Skins and Giants should win, and the Cowboys and Eagles should lose. I'm hoping for conventional wisdom (with an upset by Oakland as icing on the cake).
