The season, she gives and she takes.
The Redskins
lost 31-28 to the Rams on Sunday, on the back of, frankly, a stellar performance on the part of Sam Bradford. (I don't like it any more than you do, but let's give credit where credit is due.) That being said, RG3 had a pretty awesome day of his own: 20-29 for 206 yds, 1 TD and 1 INT in the air; 11 rushes for 82 yards and 2 TDs on the ground (the first time a Skins quarterback has run for 2 TDs in the same game since Mark Rypien). I'm OK with those numbers. The calculated QBR for Griffin for that game is 86.3, but that doesn't take into account the rushing numbers.
OLB Brian Orakpo and DE Adam Carriker, both defensive starters, are out for the rest of the season. Orakpo has a torn pectoral muscle, Carriker a torn quad tendon. This should put a further dent in a defense that has allowed 63 points over two games.
Where is our defense? 63 points in two games?! This is not the defense we've come to know and rely upon. What do you think needs to happen to seal up the holes?
Next week: the Skins finally play a game at home, hosting the 1-1 Cincinnati Bengals. It's early, but right now we're a 3.5-point favorite. Let's hope that turns out better for us than the 3 points the spread gave to the Rams.
