I will break my silence on politics and this election.
On this day when every American should be proud to be able to take part in making history, I heard one of the most disparaging comments I have ever heard from one of my co-workers. When I asked why they were not going to vote., the answer I got was: "I don't want to feel responsible for things." This made me very sad to hear an intelligent adult say this.
To borrow a sentiment from
zfarcher , For all of the people that supported McCain, my hope is you are not ignored. You have a voice in this country. It is your right and no matter how much I may disagree with your views, I will defend your right to speak your mind.
Tonight the world watched, waited and witnessed this country make history. So with high hopes for what lies ahead and the changes a great number of us are hoping for, I can only think of one thing to say...
And so it begins.
