Temporary Nightmare

Once, I had a dream I was in a box
Without any windows, doors, or locks.
So I sat down with nothing to do
And wathced as the walls constantly grew.
Green and purple lights pulsed on the roof.
Then in front of me was a golden poof
Of the thickest smoke to infiltrate the air.
I scanned the darkness and was met with a stare.
In the mist stood a cyclops with a smile so bright
That it illuminated this room of so great a height.
In his hands were a glass sphere
Which I suddenly began to fear.
The reason it caused me so much strife
Because written on this ball were the words "my life".
The man with bright clothes held it high,
Then he threw it towards the sky.
As the orb speeded towards the ground
Snakes appeared and tied me down.
My life shattered in front of his eye
And at that moment I began to cry.
Through tears I saw him inching away,
For near this disaster he would not stay.
I screamed for him to come back
But he was lost in the forest of black.
As I opened my eyes I made the remark
that "Nothing is real in the dark"
