Wow, I haven't been by in a long time. So sorry!!! Here's what's new.
The trip to Savannah was surprisingly easy. The hardest part was getting through security with Arrena, the infant seat, and a stroller. Esp. since we had to go down stairs and climb up a set to get into the plane. Ugh. Still, people were really happy to help. surprise, surprise. Anyhow, once we were there, it was all gravy. Arrena slept through the flights, hung out with me at the festival (though I couldn't see any movies) and enjoyed everyone's company.
Since then, I've been to Denver w/o her, and to NY with her. She didn't seem to miss me much while I was away - for which I credit Daddy's good care. In NY, my mom met me at my hotel and babysat teh girl while I went to my event. After that, Robert flew into town and we took Arrena to my brother's home. We had a nice long weekend with my sibling and his family. It's really good because he and Robert seem to have bonded and genuinely like each other.
We're about to go to Sundance next week. 7 days. So not looking forward to it. Robert and the girl are both coming. We have a condo (everyone in my office has a seperate condo) so we should be pretty comfortable. Of course, it's supposed to be something like 7 degrees next week. No, I didn't forget a number - 7 degrees! I've bought the girl a lot of sweaters and sweats, so I think she'll be fine. I've already bought her a winter coat, too. I hope I can see a few movies, at least.
NOW, the update. Robert and I moved Thanksgiving weekend. We needed a place with a 2nd bedroom. We found a great place, a duplex, with plenty of room and a washer/dryer!!! The girl started daycare, though she only goes about 4 hours a day. My boss is willing to let me always work from home, but I like coming in, and having the girl get used to being away from me. Of course, she's caught a few colds, but nothing serious. She's healthy and happy. Just learning to roll over and sit up. She's still opinionated, but over all, she's not that difficult. We'll see how she is when she gets older. haha In the meantime, I have to say: (bragging coming)
my little girl is such a cutie!! I think she's like me in that she isn't necessarily photogenic - she's cuter in person. But it's been really strange how many people have come up to us in public and commented on how pretty she is. It's not just featurs though (I'm not bragging THAT much), I just think it's because she's so alert and in tuned to what's going on around her. People always mention how alert she is. So she, at least, LOOKS smart. :-) We're starting cereal now, and I'm a little sad that she's growing up so fast. I love it sometimes, and can't wait until she starts to talk (and sleep thru the night!!!), but she's already racing by. She was Christened last weekend with her cousin Kayla. I love that they'll share that for the rest of their lives. Right now, they're the only two in the family (both families) that young, so they'll need each other as allies. My FIL has never loved me so much as when I brought that girl into his life. He thought he'd never have grandchildren so he's mad over the girl. It's sweet to see.
Anyhow, that's my update. I still can't post pics (it says I have to have a paid membership but I know that's not right. Ugh) But you can check out the girls blog for pics and tales (get it?). I'll be updating it tonight(?).
