After a swashfree week due to the BBC showing men in shorts instead of men in leather, I'm pleased to say that this Friday, buckling was back, back, back. Here are some thoughts on The Musketeers 2.04: ( Emilie. )
Yeah, the on-set hairdressers have definitely got a bit plait-happy this series. All the ladies with up-dos seem to have little plaits weaving in and out of them too. If you sit too still between scenes, someone probably pounces on you and starts doing fancy braiding. We'll know they're REALLY bored if they start doing the blokes as well...
You have surpassed yourself today, my dear. Although I think it was a particularly rich field to pick from.
There is something unthreatening about soup, no matter how many shrooms you put in it. If Emilie has been having visions since she was a child, has her mother been giving her mushroom soup *every day*? And Emilie has never questioned this?
I am guessing that Emilie's mum started the visions slowly, so maybe when she was young, she would only have one vision a week or something, which wouldn't create any dietary suspicions. Probably not the same day every week, though... "If it's Tuesday, it must be apocalyptic nightmares night!"
Alternatively, the peasant diet in those days was probably pretty dull, so you could maybe get away with sticking a little bit of mushroom in almost anything else you were cooking, and hope she wouldn't notice...
Another excellent review. Not sure you can blame Athos for not spotting his evil ex wife from two feet away. After all she was wearing an almost transparent veil to almost cover her face at the time!!!
Maybe Athos thinks he's so traumatized by their miserable relationship that he sees Milady's face everywhere he looks, but he hasn't yet twigged that it's because she frequently IS right in front of him...
