On the downside, Morgause and Cenred were wasted
THIS. Looking back, what have they accomplished? Zilch. Though I did like the sexual tension between them. :D

I'm sure there's some hot and kinky fic out there involving those two.

It seems that Cenred's main purpose is to look after a huge army so that Morgause doesn't have to (her pretty forest glade doesn't really have a storage area for several thousand sweaty men), and to generally give her something someone to do between episodes. But hey, I don't object to a spot of male eye-candy and I bet she doesn't either.

Meanwhile, Gaius had blithely assumed that Merlin hadn't come home because he was sleeping with Arthur, and seems actively surprised to find out that this isn't the case...

Its true! Its true! I tweeted it at the time although not in such glorious prose as yours!

Wonderful commentary as always, I look forward to your reviews almost as much as the show itself :D

It made me wonder whether Gaius reads (or writes!) too much fanfiction and has now started to get it mixed up with real life...

When Arthur mentioned that he'd like to get his mouth around something big, round and tangy first thing in the morning, pickled eggs weren't what he'd had in mind.

There goes my coffee. XD

That was a great review, thanks.

Was I the only one thinking "in the end, there can be only one" during the sword fight between Merlin and Morgana? And really hoping for a bit of magic resembling a Quickening?

I wasn't personally, but teatime is generally considered a bit too early for decapitation on the BBC.

I'd be up for some quickening-like Mass Destruction. :D
