Bricking it

The penultimate dose of Heroes, and I can already feel the wibblings of withdrawal bubbling in my system. Or maybe that's the Côtes du Rhône I just drank (hic).

Anyway, here are some thoughts on The Wall... )

Text. Texty text that they can't show on screen even though they can show Gretchen and Claire. But obvious text, nonetheless.

And props for mentioning the Peter + Gabriel + Sledgehammer! I thought I was the only one to notice but it *had* to be deliberate. They can't be that clever accidentally.

I am weirdly looking forward to the finale and the teaming-up of the twins Peter and Sylar, in a way I could not have expected when they booted Pasdar. But since an S5 is not assured, have they written it as a series finale? Do we even know?

I love your icon. I would also love to see it captioned "Jazz Hands". :P

I think you've just helped me to decide what my superpower of choice would be. Particularly good for posing on rooftops!

It was quite ridiculously blatant, it's true. Also, did you notice the lettering on the ground by the wall? "TRUcks ONly" would be the boring interpretation, but it's tempting to read it as "TRUly in love with ONe another"...

The sledgehammer thing MUST be deliberate, surely. I bet the writing staff is wall-to-wall 80s kids.

I read somewhere that they wrote it as something that could serve as a series finale if it had to. Whatever that means in practice, your guess is as good as mine!

So you're only a few weeks older than I am, and I've already been feeling ancient - "Maggie May" was replaced (Billboard charts, I'm a reluctant USer) by "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves" by Cher.

On a Heroes note, OMG! ;) I had forgotten Jack Coleman was on Dynasty. That god-awful 80s hair... ;)

"Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves" is pretty groovy, though. If I'd been born a little later, I could have ended up with Benny Hill singing "Ernie the Fastest Milkman in the West", which is substantially less classic.

I was 11 when Maggie May was a hit, so you are just a young whippersnapper!

It's also a comfort that I've had several very different hairstyles in the intervening 38 years, while Rod Stewart has only had two. And neither of those were very nice.

Peter and Sylar beat the crap out of various Elis

This is what I'm wondering about. Now that Sylar was good for several years in the Land of Nod, will he still have trouble controlling himself when he gets his powers back? Or will he no longer want to use them? I find Good!Sylar adorable, and Good!Angsty!Sylar having trouble saving his beloved Peter b/c he doesn't want to be EBIL OH NOES would make for great watchin'. :P

I imagine Sylar will have to decide which he lurves more: Peter or BRAINS. Which is tastier? Some major-league eyebrow work may be needed to work out that little conundrum.

"Metal Guru" by T-Rex for me, for my partner it was "Who's Sorry Now?" by Connie Francis, and for my sister it was "Save all your kisses for me" by Brotherhood of Man.

Yours is a good 'un. Your sister's less so, but it could have been worse. After all, some folk must have been born when "There's No One Quite Like Grandma" was number one.
