Wow - I went to Vienna on a school trip too many years ago, and I don't remember pretty architecture like that! Clearly I was too interesting in the boys and the beer! LOL!
Vienna is full of pretty things, and it is also full of excellent cakes! I think even the teenage me would have appreciated those, even though the architecture would have passed me by...
Oh yes, Vienna was a major centre of Art Nouveau (which they called Jugendstil), what with Klimt and all his friends in the Vienna Secession. There are even Art Nouveau public toilets, designed by the appropriately-named Adolf Loos.
I'm very fond of the Easter Island head they have in there too: it's not in the Great Court but I think it's peering out from one of the adjacent rooms.
