Suit you, sir

So at last, the wait is over.

We knew he'd have to wear something, of course. After all, nudity would have been inappropriate, and probably illegal. But would he opt for everyday anonymity, or eccentric apparel? Geek chic revisited or astronautical authenticity? There was simply no way of guessing. But now the time for speculation is done ( Read more... )

The old/young problem still remains, as long as he's slightly formal in sspeech the whole Eleven scenario may still be rescuable. If he's hip-hop raptastic he'd DEDD!

I think the costume choice was deliberate to 'age' Eleven. He really would have looked young dressed in something like Eccleston's T-shirt, casual trousers and leather jacket casuals. The tweedy jacket and bow tie are an older man's wear and have a certain level of authority associated with teachers and professors.

Speaking of, I wonder if he loaned her his Converse.

She'd need pretty big feet to be wearing Ten's Converse. Then again, perhaps they are dimensionally transcendental? One size fits all!

I was about to ask you a question about something else related to the new Who photos, and then I realised it's spoilerific and you may not have seen the other photos, in which case I feel I should warn you; there are other photos out there in the tabs that reveal things that the BBC probably doesn't want you to know. Be careful in your research!

I don't think I know ANY spoilers for the Oncoming Moffat Era, other than what the Doctor looks like and what Amy looks like, so whatever you were going to mention is likely to be a mystery to me.

Generally speaking, I'm less bothered about being spoiled for Eleven-y things than I am about End-of-Ten things, because Eleven's so far in the future that I don't really care about it yet.

Ah, if your question was related to a certain guest star who is visible in those on-set shots, I caved and looked up who it was. So you can now ask the question (if you can remember it)...

Indeed. I think my question was just going to be, 'how do you feel about it'? It seemed to me it was inevitable, and I'm sort of glad to see it done, but this is not a popular guest star with a lot of the louder fans.

but I think the revelatory postmodern conceptuality of having the "work of art" take pictures of YOU while you take pictures of HIM shines through the fuzziness and lens flare.

I wholeheartedly agree! It's all so cool all around. :D

Speaking of arty things that are quite cool, I thought you might like to see these pics of my brother's band on stage last week. They were supporting Magazine in Sheffield: I wasn't there, but hopefully they will be playing again in London in a few weeks' time. My brother is the one singing, with the goatee and the waistcoat! Oh, and the girl in the band is his lovely girlfriend Michelle. :-D

Whee @ pics of Jill's brother! :D And his girlfriend is cute. I like the haircut, very 20s or something.

Also liked to see pics of Eleven (hey, do you reckon the Doctor plus Amy will be called Eleventy-One?) and the new companion. Like you, I don't really mind being spoiled right now. I have a crap visual memory anyway... ;)
