Things have been so busy. Since I didn't get round to saying it a few weeks ago... Merry Christmas/happy holidays/happy new year! Christmas was nice getting to see the family, and I spent NYE with friends instead of family for the first time, which was fun. Didn't get to go see the Sydney fireworks in person, but there's always next time.
What else? Oh- Sherlock! I read many different posts and opinions on the first ep, and I see both sides of the arguments. I recognise that there are some bits that are problematic, but.. I like to like my shows! And there was overwhelmingly more bits that I loved in this ep than bits that I didn't like, so y'know. I'll need to rewatch to pick out my favourite parts, but a short list would include:
*ALL THE MYCROFT :DD ugh mycroft ilu. There needs to be all the lots of Mycroft in all the episodes. And Lestrade, he can come too.
*Interactions between everyone! SO many conversations and emotions and the FOUND FAMILY at 221B for Christmas *______________*
*The conversation between Irene and John in the warehouse, in particular. This is not just my shipper goggles, but I interpret John and Sherlock's relationship as being romantic/non-sexual , and the "I'm not gay"/"I am, and look at us" conversation seemed to supported that. Sexual fluidity! \o/ (I kept trying to say more but I'm terrible at putting my thinky-thoughts into words. Also, other people have said it better)
*IRENE ADLER. I don't really know anything about her/ have a particular affinity for the character (haven't read many of ACD's stories) but I liked her! Also, on a shallow note Lara Pulver is ridic gorgeous. Actually, so was Benedict Cumberbatch in this ep. So much pretty.
*Oh, and the cinematography, but that's a given with this show. I love it.
LJ is still being weird, which is ANNOYING. The post editor and all the html shortcuts aren't appearing for me, I don't know if it's the same for everyone, but in either case it meant I had to hand code this entry. I damn well hope everything works, cause I'm not really bothered to go back and fix anything. SO TIRED.
ETA: Oh yay everything worked, except the bullet points, which I replaced with asterisks. RELATIVE SUCCESS \o/
