OMG Carrot!
I just finished a salad made entirely from CSA vegetables grown within a few km of here. Just spinach and carrots and red peppers and lovely purple-tinged lettuce. Everything tasted unbelievably good, especially the carrots. They are unusually large and dense, yet incredibly sweet. Also the spinach -- I've been feeding the stems to people just to watch them sway on their feet.
But alas, that was the last of the local produce for this year. Well, we still have to get all the pears and apples in...
