Alan Funt is Dead, Dammit!

If you didn't see AJSII, there was a very funny scene where fairy_bloom finds a men's shirt folded on the street near the kitchener cenotaph and debates with another passerby whether or not to keep it. Is it a reality TV show or a social science experiment? Where is the hidden camera? You get the picture ( Read more... )

I have the utmost respect for The Lady. If she sees fit to give me a pair of pants, who am I to refuse?

Host of "Candid Camera," an early reality tv show.

Also: dead.

Thank you.

But I suppose him being dead doesn't mean there isn't a Candid Camera.
I assume Price is Right will go on without Bob Barker.

I find this particularly hilarious because I had a very similar experience!

Here I am, walking the long trail home, being sad about how destroyed my shoes are and about all the blisters they're giving me. I resolve to fix them with duct tape when I get home, because there's no way I can afford a new pair right now.

I stop, suddenly, staring at the curb. There lies a pair of blue and grey skate shoes, size 9, barely used. My style, my colours, my size- you've GOT to be kidding. I look around suspiciously, poke the shoes with the battered toe of my current pair, and pick them up.

Life is really strange sometimes.

Reminds me -- I was at pennsic one year, and everyone had these great wineskins that I was lusting over. So I was heading to some party, sans wineskin, sans alcohol in fact, and kind of annoyed about it, when I come across a nice wineskin lying right in my path. Even better -- it was full!

Unfortunately, it was full of some awful undrinkable concoction that had tainted the plastic liner so you couldn't get rid of the taste. And since it was an actual event, I ended up handing it in to the lost and found.
