I HATE those people who believe that vandalism is somehow sticking it to 'the man'. So you go out and tag a bridge or something. Do you think that anyone from the government actually cares? They all get paid either way. They will never see it, and guess what else. Do you know who is going to have to pay to get it cleaned up? The Man personally, out of his own pocket? No, it's gonna be you and me who get to shoulder the finincial burden. That's money that is not going to hospitals, parks, schools, wellfare, and fire departments, all because you felt like being petty and defacing public property. Oh no, the rich old white men are really gonna feel that one! Puh-lease.
Just like those people who set off stink bombs in the hallways at high school. The Man will never smell them. Who will? You, your fellow students, and possibly some deligate like the principal or someone, but only briefly because unlike the students, they are not forced to actually walk through the hallways. So we think it stinks and you think it stinks, but the Man never even finds out what happened.
So the next time you concider littering, stealing, or vandalism, ask yourself who you are really hurting. Old white men in air conditioned rooms? No, you're hurting ordinary citizens. You're hurting single mothers, firemen, teachers, children, and ultimately yourselves.
