I got a new pair of sunglasses recently, finally replacing the pair I broke last summer. They are polarized, but have plastic lenses, so they were only 40 bucks. For my purposes, that works fine. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten used to the idea that I have sunglasses again, so I haven't remembered to actually wear them when driving yet.
Christina's birthday is coming up this month, so I'm trying to figure out what to get her. I have a few ideas, but most of them still involve a significant amount of browsing. So that should be fun. I also need to figure out what to do for Mother's Day. Probably just a card would be fine, but I'd like to find Mom something she can use.
I also recently purchased a new universal remote from
Woot! (damn your orchestrated system to encourage impulse purchases), which may greatly simplify my home theater setup and potentially act as a catalyst to upgrading to digital cable before next year. We'll see how well it works. The one thing that concerns me the most is battery life. It has a little display to show your favorite channel settings, and I imagine it draws a lot more than your standard remote.
I saw a pretty cool vanity plate today while I was off paying my rent. It read "LICNSPL" which is fairly witty/clever, but I can't fully say I approve of it any more than the "My name/my car's name" paradigm. Because who pays that much out of pocket just to show everyone how witty they are? If you said "douchebags," you'd be right.
There's a new restaurant in Menlo Park called "Justin's Cafe" and it has taken the place of the beloved Brix Burger. Their sign says "Breakfast - Lunch - Dinner" so I'm guessing it's a diner-style restaurant.
Anyway, I'm sure there were more things bouncing around in this ol' noggin, but I was too late once again in writing them down. The past few weeks have been completely bonkers -- at work and at home -- and I'm really looking forward to a couple of slow weeks after I get back from Alumni Weekend. Hopefully I will be able to clean up my apartment before I get too sucked into GTA IV.
