Give us bread but give us roses

This Sunday, our town held our delayed women's march. We had to cancel last weekend due to heavy snows and dangerous wind chills. Despite the delay, the march went off without a hitch. We had a fairly diverse crowd of over 200 people. Our eight speakers did a great job talking about everything from civil rights to reproductive rights to labor unions.

As one of the planners, I was interviewed during the march, but it didn't make the cut. I'm in this video for a blink and you'll miss it cameo though. Still a little miffed that they cut my list of suggested policies to improve women's lives. Ah, well. At least we got pretty good coverage over all. I tried embedding some of it, but apparently this site hates me and/or I'm technologically incompetent. Whatever.

Our planning committee meets soon for an after action report and to see if we want to do this again next year. It was a job of work getting it off the ground, but I'd be happy to do it again next year, especially since we now kind of know what we're doing.
